A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 78

Chapter 78: PEACEFUL MORNING

"You have been here for hours, something is bothering you?" Bryden approached Khaos. They talked a few hours ago when Khaos assigned him for a new task, but he was still in the same position like he saw him last.

Their guild was located on the cliff, where they could overlook the sea from here and right now, the alpha had been staring at the distance. The sky slowly turned bright, rich with the hue of golden color from the sun, as the first ray fell on the surface of the water.

"Nothing." Khaos took the cup of tea from Bryden's hand and drank it.

"I don't know why you are so adamant to involve her in this, but I hope you don't make a mistake," Bryden finally said after a long silent. He didn't like the fact Khaos suddenly became interested with Zuri, more than necessary, but he couldn't get the real reason out of him. "I only want to warn you that Ezra doesn't like this situation with Zuri and he might try something. Maybe not as blunt as Mabel, but he wouldn't accept the situation readily either."

Khaos didn't need to hear that, he knew his own people, but he didn't reply to that statement and kept waiting for the sun to fully rise, so he could collect the answer that he needed.

"We are almost there," Bryden said again. "All of the pain and suffering will worth it. The revenge is ours to take." He then looked at the alpha. "It's yours to take for what they had done to your family."

As the last lycan, it fell on Khaos the responsibility to avenge his family, he knew it ever since he learned how this world worked. He was burdened by the knowledge that the purpose of his life was to revive the old dynasty.

The fallen dynasty of the lycan didn't only affect the old royal bloodline only, but also the people who supported them.

They were annihilated along with their belief to protect the lycan and those people, who managed to survive, hiding for long time and changed their identity after the situation calmed down.

And now, all of them rallied behind Khaos, fueled with rage and desire to take their revenge for their own family too.

That was why, this revenge was not only for Khaos, but for them as well.

Most of the people that was with Khaos right now and supported him came from the first or second generation of the survival during those dark moments.

"Thanks for the tea," Khaos said, smiling at his beta and handed over the empty cup to him, as he walked away from there. He didn't comment anything about his statement earlier. He had heard enough. Bryden had repeated the same thing and it got boring.

Right now, Khaos hoped Zuri's decision wouldn't be a disappointment and once the bright light of the sun illuminated every dark corner of the night, Khaos went to see Zuri.
