Chapter 28
Holding her bouquet, Lyzza walks down the red carpet that leads to the altar where Gideon was standing on his gorgeous white tux while staring intently at her. "Your future husband is very handsome, Son. My grandson will take the eye,"
whispered his mom jokingly walking beside him. "Ma,"
he laughed and tightened his grip on her arm. "I’m just getting married, I’m not going to another country and we won’t see each other for ten years."
The mother pinched her side and simply sniffed. "Oh, you!"
He didn’t say a word because he knew it was happy for him and his son. Summer waved cutely at her when she passed him next to Gideon’s Mommy Gerona and Daddy. She even gave her a flying kiss that made her laugh. Her baby is beautiful in her blue dress which is the theme of their wedding. His hair was still up like hers so his whiteness appeared even more. Her cheeks are pinkish and her eyes are glowing.
He waved back at his son who made the latter giggle. He looked ahead and Gideon’s eyes met. His eyes scream a lot of emotion that she cannot name what those are. She held her bouquet tightly because she knew that the moment they got married, the moment she said the word ‘I do’, in front of the altar, her life would change forever.
"Take care of my son, huh?!"
His mother extended her hand to the outstretched hand of the man with brown eyes. "I knew you would do that, I just wanted to say. I hope your marriage lasts and you love each other even more."
He wanted to cringe at the last thing he said. Gideon will take care of them, yes. But they love each other, he doesn’t know because it’s clear that he doesn’t feel anything for her and neither does he. Just like it said, they will just go with the flow and have a trust and faithfulness to each other in this marriage.
"Yes, Ma,"
the man answered and kissed his mother’s head and hugged her. He hugged and h*****k Gideon’s parents on the cheek. Summer ran towards them and hugged his thigh. "You’re so beautiful, Mommy."
"You too, Baby."
He bent down and kissed her on the forehead.
Gideon carried his daughter and said something to her ear that made the little girl chuckle cutely
After a moment of greeting, they faced the altar. The ceremony went well and Gideon’s friends teased him when the priest announced that he can now kiss the bride. He pressed his hand on the stem of his bouquet as he slowly raised the
he was wearing a viel. His chest heaved as their eyes met. The back of his hand caressed her cheek. The heat generated by that delivers an electrical voltage to the system.
He was able to put his palms on his wife’s chest when he suddenly grabbed her by the waist. Before she could even blink, his face came closer to hers and their lips met.
The whole church was filled with applause but he was deaf to it all. All the people disappeared and the surroundings became silent and Gideon was the only one left. His encircling kiss trapped her in the world of dreams and messed with her system. He came back to reality when his wife released his lips from his. They were both panting and his chest heaved more when he saw her staring at him. He doesn’t want to assume with its knee-weakening gaze.
If the guests hadn’t screamed again and Summer ran up to him he wouldn’t have been able to take his eyes off it.
The wife moved away from him and carried the child before he put one hand back on her waist. Flashes of cameras follow as they take a picture with their families, friends and visitors.
At the reception, Qyla’s face was grim when she approached him and Jessica. How is it, he didn’t even talk about them. He was getting married the next day when he gave the wedding invitation. It was an intimate wedding. Only family and friends are
invited. "Don’t talk to me,"
she said to him, "who are you to me now."
"It’s like the size of my sin against you."
He glared at her with eyes that made him and Jessica laugh. "It’s really big. You are shameless! We’ve just been busy, you’ve reached chapter one hundred of your life. As for speed, is there a shortcut?"
