Zane remained silent.
Levi kept saying, "You should listen to my arrangements about this. I always believe that you will have a successful career. You are still so young. Even though you can't walk, you have other ways. You have been so depressed during the past few years. I haven't made any comments about that. But you should cheer up from now on."
Zane didn't express his opinion, but he didn't directly oppose Levi.
They had dinner at the Lamont's. It seemed that they were close. But the truth was that they were not intimate.
It was awkward.
Finally, they finished dinner. Levi didn't stay long. Although Maverick didn't show any respect to Levi, Levi regained his confidence here.
Levi looked down on Will and thought that he was useless. In fact, they two had some things in common.
As Levi left, Will pulled Zane and said, "Your grandfather came here for you."
"Yes, I know."
"He came for what he told you just now. I know that he went to find Maverick in the afternoon and was rejected."
Zane glanced at Will but did not say anything. He called the butler over to push him upstairs.
Seeing that Zane did not take his words seriously, Will felt uncomfortable. As a member of the Lamont family, Will did not lack money, but he had no power. During these days, so many things happened but he couldn't say a word at all.
He thought that Levi had come today to let him regain power.
It was not easy to get along with Levi. They couldn't control what Maverick did when he was abroad. But at home, Maverick was no match for Levi in terms of connections.
But it didn't happen.
Levi didn't consider Will. Instead, Levi wanted Zane to be in charge of power. All of them looked down on Will.
The more Will thought about it, the more unwilling he felt. He mocked Zane, "You are good at acting. Others may not know your ideas, but I am your father and I know that you are ambitious. You can't beat Maverick in a head-on fight, so you want to beat him in a roundabout way. This time, you are quite clever. It is good timing. Levi thought of you and wanted you to be in charge of power."
Zane was at the corner on the second floor.
Hearing Will's words, he pressed his hands on the wheelchair's wheels.
The butler nodded and left.
Zane sat in his wheelchair and tilted his head slightly, looking down at Will who was standing downstairs with a dark gaze.
"Dad, we are a family. What are you talking about? Your words will influence our relationship. I'm your son, not your enemy. You have to remember this."
His words were like a cold wind blowing down from the stairs.
Will chickened out a little.
He knew very well that both of his two sons did bad things. One did it on the surface, but another did it in the dark.
Will saw something in Zane's eyes.
That was like a cold hell.
After Zane left for a long time, Will recovered from the shock and got goosebumps.
