Hendrix and Edmond both found something serious.
Everly was in a strange mood.
Hendrix knew her very well. She could not easily conceal her emotions, especially when she was sulking.
No matter who spoke to her, she didn't bother to answer.
And she might even hurt herself.
It was early in the morning. She served Edmond a glass of water. Lost in thought, she didn't even notice she had filled the glass so full that the boiling water overflowed. She was scalded. With a shake of her hand, the glass slipped down and was broken into pieces.
She wanted to pick up the pieces, but in a panic, her finger was scratched accidentally.
Although the wound wasn't deep, it was enough to show how absent-minded she was.
Back then, Hendrix wasn't there, and Edmond saw the whole process.
Just as he was about to say something, Parrish and Gloria came to the hospital to see him, only to find their daughter's fingers bleeding.
"Are you too tired?" Gloria was worried.
Thinking it over, she nodded again. Everly had gone to Weirdale before, and after rushing back, she had been accompanying Edmond in the hospital these days. For sure, she was tired.
Gloria had retired, but she used to work in the hospital. She immediately comforted Everly, "Everly, don't worry. Edmond will be fine. Hendrix is taking care of the stuff in the school. You look so pale. Go back and have a good rest. Your father and I will stay in the hospital today."
Parrish had been arrogant and tender. Since Everly was absent-minded, it was rare for him to say softly, "Go back and rest. In such a sorry state, you might scare Edmond into crying later."
Everly was lost for words.
'Is it that serious?'
'Although I am a little depressed, I won't scare Edmond into crying, will I?'
Edmond recovered quite well. As for those messes at the school, Hendrix helped handle them. Everly had just returned yesterday, and only one day passed. She would probably have to wait a bit longer.
Everly was indeed unable to do anything. After her parents had come and said that, she looked at Edmond, feeling that the way he looked at her was somewhat strange.
Everly cleared her throat and whispered, "Then I'll go."
Holding her purse, Everly kissed Edmond and said gently, "Have a good rest. Mommy will go home and take a bath. I will come to see you later."
Edmond was considerate. "Mommy, have a good rest. You have to work later. Don't worry about me."
After thinking for a while, he added seriously, "But if Uncle finds something, Mommy, you must tell me. Also, how is Candy? Can you help me ask?"
Everly's peaceful mood immediately stirred up.
She thought about what had happened between her and Maverick. She suddenly didn't know how to face the innocent Edmond.
After a few more words with Edmond, Everly left.
However, Gloria chased after her and asked, "Everly, last time you were on a blind date. What do you think of that guy?"
Everly was stunned. It hadn't been a few days. Stanley hadn't called in these past few days, but his WeChat messages kept coming. It was just that Everly didn't take him seriously. Occasionally, she just replied with simple words.
She didn't expect that Gloria would mention him.
Everly could only say, "We have some contact."
"See what happened to Edmond this time. You are a woman. How can you have the energy to take care of the child and work at the same time?"
"Mom, don't mention that. I know what to do."
"Anyway, since you're back, we must consider Edmond's physical and mental health. What if those bad children gossip about him again?"
"I know..."
Everly was not as tough as before, because she thought that what her mother said might be right.
In China, although there were lots of single mothers and single fathers, they knew who their partners were.
