Silas didn't say a word, just raised his hand to press hers.
"Once I give something away, I never take it back."
"Huh?"
"It's yours now."
Silas looked at her, a hint of something like irritation in his eyes.
"But..."
He didn't let her finish, striding ahead with purpose.
Calliope carefully followed behind Silas. "Well, thank you, I guess?"
"You can consider me your husband, just like the agreement says."
Silas came to an abrupt stop, and Calliope, not expecting it, walked right into his broad back. Her body pressed against his, and she could feel the warmth radiating from him, solid and reassuring.
Calliope froze, her heart racing in her chest.
Silas turned around, and since she hadn't moved, she found herself directly in his embrace. His arms were warm and strong.
For a moment, Calliope was dazed, feeling it was strangely familiar, an inexplicable sense of safety creeping over her because of him.
Even though he intimidated her a bit, she couldn't deny the comfort he brought her.
He had always seemed like some sort of unapproachable figure to her, but right now, he seemed like a guardian angel, always there to protect her.
Looking up, she met his eyes.
Silas inadvertently locked eyes with her, and his heart started beating faster.
Meanwhile, Silas sat in his study for a long time, trying to calm his wildly beating heart.
He forced himself to suppress the urge to get closer to her. He knew she hadn't fully let go of Gideon; she probably still cared about him and was only with him to provoke Gideon.
If he showed any emotion, he feared she would be frightened. He couldn't let her be afraid.
That night, Calliope once again dreamed of her past life.
She dreamed of being beaten until she was barely conscious, her body covered in bruises and blood. She begged for mercy, desperately trying to protect her dignity.
She dreamed of calling out for help, but no one came to her aid. She heard her brothers laughing with Lisette, celebrating a birthday. She dreamed of Gideon watching a movie with Yvette, ignoring her calls.
She felt so cold, shivering as she hugged herself tightly.
Then, suddenly, a bright light surrounded a figure approaching her. She couldn't make out who it was, but the figure came to her, bending down to gently embrace her. She felt warmth and a sense of peace.

Oh wrestling expert ey? So is this Khamzat Chimaev or Shavkat Rakhmonov? Because Khabib's would be too haram....
Oh no. Million is just mix of Conor McGregor, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Max Holloway, Anderson Silva... I bet he lands 5sec flying knees like Jorge Masvidal too. Oh nope, 1sec knees. And has faster left hooks than Alex Pereira. Definitely would win UFC championship in every weight division including women. Poor Zhang Weili....
Okay so.... Million is now from East. Arctic wolf from East, modified genetically so he can manage his own Instagram and probably also box like Mike Tyson and snapping left hooks like Alex Pereira....
This is starting to be the same twister of abilities as Cassandra Yates and Tiffany. But question is, why the hell Silas can't just open his mouth and tell Caliope that she's the one whom he has in his heart. He would prevent a lot of misunderstanding. Seems like despite capability of talking with modified arctic wolf, she's not like telepathic....
Oh no, so FL is again another hidden genius with both hemispheres working on hundreds... Ffffuuuu. Cassandra Yates and Tiffany were already enough, ughugh. And Tiffany was even more exaggerated than Cassandra....
That's weird, in the first chapters there was said that her bio parents and bros doteď on Caliope but then they adopted Lisette, but this chapter suddenly says otherwise. Did author forget what he wrote?...
I REALLLYYY REALLLYYYY REALLYYYYYY WANT TO SLAP THE 3 BROTHERS WHENEVER THEY OPEN THEIR MOUTH !!! AND THEIR MOM !!!...
