A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 440

Horatio and Calliope exchanged a glance, and he was at a loss for explanation. It wasn’t just because she was about to heal his legs. He realized, after some reflection, that he had indeed wronged Calliope. Maybe he’d been too wrapped up in his own anger, and had always put Lisette on a pedestal.

But now, with Lisette out of the picture, things seemed a bit clearer. The person in front of him was his real sister, the one who had helped him stand up for the first time.

He had always favored Lisette, perhaps misunderstanding Calliope all along. Sure, Calliope had her own faults, like not voicing out her feelings, but he hadn’t exactly been attentive to her either.

There were misunderstandings all around on both sides. Maybe this was a chance to mend things. They could show her more kindness, let her feel their love. Her stubbornness was perhaps her way of seeking their affection.

She wanted the Jewell family’s company and everything that came with it, but maybe it was just a matter of indignation, wanting to compete with Lisette.

Valerian, though still thinking about Lisette, couldn’t help but glance at Horatio when he spoke. Then he looked at Calliope, hesitating.

He knew he was at fault. Admitting it was another thing altogether. He liked Lisette, but the person standing there was his sister. Being good to her was only right.

Valerian felt awkward, but after a moment’s hesitation, he said to Calliope, “I’ve wronged you too. I remember you saved me.

Callie, let’s not hold grudges against each other. Families shouldn’t let a day end with anger. When Lisette comes back, we’ll be a happy family again, okay? Even though you’re married now, we’ll always have a room for you at home.”

Calliope gave Valerian a pointed look. “The storage room, right?”

Her words made Valerian pale slightly.
