A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 450

Almost every member was against the idea. No one wanted Calliope to take the helm as chairwoman, to steer the company forward.

Sure, Monty wasn't exactly a powerhouse of leadership, but at least he knew the ins and outs of the place after all these years.

Calliope, on the other hand, was a different story. The last time she'd been involved with the company, her blunders were so monumental that she'd been shown the door.

If the Jewell family had wronged her, leading to the Group’s reputation getting tarnished, it was up to them to make amends, not to hand over the company for her to potentially wreck.

The opposition was fierce. Everyone agreed that Calliope should back down, not step up to manage the company.

Monty was sweating bullets, scared that the relentless pushback would cause Calliope to throw in the towel. Horatio seemed on the verge of speaking but held back.

One of the board members turned to Calliope and said, "Ms. Jewell, I get it. You can't stand that your sister's been involved here for so long, and you want a piece of the action, but have you ever stopped to consider if you're up to the task?"

"Seriously, Ms. Jewell, it's not about underestimating you, but do you have any experience in running a company?"

"Ms. Jewell, you need to stick to what you know, and management might not be it."

Calliope maintained a calm, faint smile, showing no rush or concern. She glanced around at everyone before speaking slowly and clearly, "Actually, I do have some management experience. Does running the Pearl Tiger Club count?"

"What? The Pearl Tiger Club!"

A chuckle quickly turned to silence.

All eyes were on Calliope, faces etched with confusion.

"Pearl Tiger Club?"

"Did she just say she managed the Pearl Tiger Club?"
