A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 465

Yvette's situation was something that could be considered, but the prospects of Gideon didn't look promising.

With a resolute gaze, Calliope declared, “Begging me won't help, and neither will pleading with Silas. This is something Gideon has to handle himself. If he can surpass Calista in skill, Silas would naturally choose him. But if he can't measure up, why wouldn't Silas pick someone as capable as Calista?”

“Calista's still just a high schooler! What kind of skill could he possibly have? Gideon's been with the company for years now. He definitely knows it better than Calista, and he's certainly more skilled!”

Fleur shouted, “You know how amazing Gideon is! Didn't you like him back then because of his talents?”

Calliope hesitated, and then replied, “It was a huge misunderstanding back then.”

“What?” Fleur cried.

After a brief glance at Fleur, Calliope continued, “I didn't really know him well. If I had, I wouldn't have fallen for him. He's nowhere near as capable as Silas, and not even Calista.”

“Calliope!” Fleur exclaimed, her emotions flaring.

“I'm just speaking the truth,” Calliope said. “Skill isn't something you can just claim; he simply doesn't measure up.”

Fleur wanted to lash out, but she held back. She still needed Calliope's help after all. Thinking of the long game, she decided to keep her temper in check. Once she was in Calliope's good graces, she'd surely lend a hand.
