A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 469

As soon as Fleur finished speaking, in walked two towering bodyguards. They were decked out in black suits and sunglasses, looking every intimidating. Their presence was anything but friendly.

Yvette's heart tightened when she saw them. Her face turned an alarming shade of pale as she processed Fleur's words.

"Fleur, I'll take care of myself. But do I really need them? I can be careful on my own. Isn’t it inappropriate to have two men following me around?"

Glancing at the two towering bodyguards, she felt unease creeping though her. Being constantly shadowed by these two would make every action awkward and restrictive. How could she live with such inconvenience?

Worse still, they’d undoubtedly report every little detail back to Fleur—she’d have no privacy left at all. This was nothing like the glamorous, free-spirited life of a wealthy socialite she had envisioned dreamed of. She had plans to leverage the resources now at her fingertips. But like this? She’d be nothing but a caged bird!

Fleur's sole focus was on Yvette having a baby. Would she be any different from a broodmare then? The idea repulsed Yvette. She shook her head vehemently.

"Fleur, please, I promise I'll behave. Can’t you not do this to me? Like I said before, we shouldn't be enemies, especially not when Calliope is out there. I want a child as much as you do. I won't do anything reckless!"

Yvette insisted, her voice rising in urgency. She reached out, hoping to touch Fleur's arm, to plead with her, but Fleur stepped back, her expression impassive as she gazed at her.

"No matter what, you will carry Gideon's child, and you will deliver it safely. I’m telling you, once you're pregnant, you're not leaving this house. You'll stay in bed, 24/7. You've brought this on yourself. If I had known, I would never have let Gideon marry you."
