A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 523

Calliope took back the glass of red wine, steady and cool.

When she pried the other woman’s hand off the stem, the woman’s face twisted with pain and disbelief.

“Ouch! You hurt my fingers!” she snapped, glaring at Calliope like she was the victim here—even though she was the one who started it.

Calliope shot her a frosty look. “What’s your problem? I haven’t done a thing to you.”

“I’ve let you off twice already,” she went on, her voice low and dangerous. “But I’m not in a great mood tonight, and honestly? I could use someone to take it out on. You sure you want to volunteer?”

Her beautiful face was all hard edges now.

“Let me go!” the woman barked again.

“I just want to know,” the woman said, voice rising, “why you’re hanging around Silas. He’s my man, in case you didn’t know! Stay away from him, or you’ll regret it! Who do you think you are, trying to steal my husband?”

Calliope blinked. “Wait, you mean Silas?”

She looked at the woman, her expression somewhere between confusion and amusement. Her husband? She’s calling Silas her husband?

Okay, this one’s lost her mind.

“Of course I mean him! No other man is good enough for me—only Silas. He’s mine, so don’t even think about it!”

“Let go of me!” The woman struggled again.
