Benson's face twisted in pain as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
Sophie stood there, stunned, frozen for several seconds before finally rushing forward to help him up.
"Benson! Are you okay?"
Benson forced himself to sit up straight, wiping the blood from his lips. He lifted his head, confusion and frustration in his eyes as he stared at Theo.
"Uncle Theo, why did you hit me? What did I do wrong?"
Theo's voice was low and cold, his gaze sharp as a blade. "Do you really need me to spell it out for you? Threats, humiliation—is that how you handle relationships?"
Benson's eyes flickered. He glanced at Sierra, who sat quietly in her chair, her face emotionless.
For a split second, regret flashed in his eyes.
But his pride refused to let him back down. His voice was firm as he retorted, "Uncle Theo, this is my personal business. You don't need to get involved."
"Her business is my business."
Theo's deep voice carried an unmistakable chill, making Benson's brows furrow.
His gaze darted back and forth between Theo and Sierra, and a thought he didn't dare believe crept into his mind.
"Uncle Theo, you never get involved in other people's business. You and Sierra have barely even met—so why are you so protective of her?" Benson's voice rose, anger creeping in. "Don't tell me—you like her? She's my girlfriend!"
"Benson, that's enough!" Sierra's voice was cold as she finally spoke, her eyes still wet with unshed tears. "Not everyone treats relationships like a joke the way you do. When I was with you, I never had feelings for anyone else.
"I broke up with you because you never respected me, and you never knew how to keep proper boundaries with other women. The breakup was on you, not me. So, don't go blaming innocent people for your mistakes."
