"I came here today to settle things between us once and for all. You're the one who brought all these people into it. You're the one who dragged them into this mess."
Sierra's voice was calm, but her eyes were like a frozen winter night—cold, sharp, and completely devoid of warmth. She looked at Benson with an icy stare that sent a chill straight to the bone.
She stood up and walked toward the door.
She was done with all of this—these people, this situation. None of it was worth her time anymore.
As she stepped away, Adrian and his men entered, pulling Benson aside while the bodyguards pinned Sophie to the floor as she struggled.
"Benson! Benson, help me!" Sophie screamed in sheer panic, but Benson was held down, unable to move, completely powerless.
"Uncle Theo, you can't do this! I'm your nephew!" he shouted, his voice laced with anger.
However, Theo acted like he hadn't heard a thing and strode out of the room without a second glance.
Stepping out of the hotel, Theo spotted her sitting on the steps outside. Under the moonlight, she tilted her head back, staring into the dark sky. Faint streaks of dried tears still marked her face, and at that moment, she looked small, fragile, and heartbreakingly alone.
Theo clenched his fists, then slowly walked over to her.
"You okay?"
His voice was low, careful—like he was afraid of startling her.
Sierra lifted her gaze to him and gave a faint smile.
"I'm fine."
Theo watched her smile, but instead of easing him, it only made him frown slightly. His voice was dry as he said, “If you're not okay, you don't have to pretend you are.”
