The hand around her waist was burning hot. With its warmth radiating through her, it made her body weak and unsteady.

"Is he gone yet?" Sierra whispered.

"Not yet," Theo replied. He had a serious tone as he looked down at the woman curled against his chest. A trace of amusement flickered in his deep eyes.

He wished he could hold her like this forever, never letting go.

Time stretched on, and Sierra's arm—propped against the seat to keep herself from pressing too close to him—started to ache. However, she didn't dare move, afraid of accidentally touching something she shouldn't.

In the cramped space, the cool, woody scent of Theo's cologne surrounded her, pulling her in, and consuming her. It caused her heart to skip a few beats.

She hesitantly tilted her head and was immediately met with his sharp jawline. His skin was flawless, his features so strikingly perfect that no matter which angle she looked from, there wasn't a single flaw to be found.

Suddenly, Theo lowered his gaze, and their eyes met.

"Is he still not gone?" Sierra blurted out, desperate to break the tension.

Theo caught sight of her flushed face—so red it looked like she might combust—and finally decided to let her off the hook. His voice, however, was noticeably rougher.

"He just left."

Hearing that, she immediately pushed against his chest, forcing herself out of his embrace and trying to break free from his hold.

Theo didn't stop her. He just watched as she quickly put some distance between them and sat stiffly at his side. Her ears were practically glowing red, making the corners of his lips curve slightly.
