Felicia's eyes flickered with a hint of excitement as she lowered her voice. "Well, Cayden said Sierra convinced him to forgive Benson. Even if they're not back together yet, it's only a matter of time. I knew it—Sierra could never truly cut him off.
"And poor Cayden—he got seriously hurt because of her, had to rest at home for two days, and now he comes back only to see her letting Benson off the hook so easily. She's heartless."
Janice's expression darkened with disdain. "That's just like her. Cold and ungrateful. It's not surprising."
Felicia leaned in closer and whispered, "Didn't you say you already reached out to the media? Why haven't we seen anything yet?"
Janice looked up at her, a look of suspicion in her eyes. "Why are you more anxious than me?"
Felicia's eyes flickered again, and she quickly covered her nerves with a laugh. "I'm just worried for you. The competition finals are only days away, and now Sierra is playing weak in front of Benson. Her motives couldn't be more obvious."
Janice relaxed slightly, sighing. "Actually, I went to the hospital and asked the doctors about her injury. Her left shoulder was dislocated. With an injury like that, there's no way she'll be able to perform at her best for the piano competition."
Her voice carried a slight hint of disappointment. She had wanted to see how much talent Sierra still had left.
"Her shoulder was dislocated?" Felicia's eyes widened in surprise. "That serious?"
"Yeah. We misunderstood her that day—she wasn't faking when she passed out. And honestly, with her condition now, there's no way she's winning the championship. So I figured there's no need to go through with anything else."
That wouldn't do.
The moment Janice said that, Felicia felt a wave of panic. She quickly thought of a way to turn things around and spoke again.
"Janice, you're looking at this the wrong way. The real issue isn't whether Sierra wins or loses. She's already out of the running. What we should be worried about is her coming back to campus. Think about it—she's manipulative.
