A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 265

As Janet opened her mouth to protest again, Edward firmly cut her off.

"Enough. The decision is final. If you have time to argue, put it to good use by preparing for the wedding. The sooner it happens, the better."

Seeing Janet still on the edge of disagreement, he added sharply, "If we wait until her belly starts showing before the wedding, it will be obvious it's a shotgun marriage. That would be even more humiliating."

Janet, who cared deeply about appearances, clenched her fists in frustration. Her gaze hardened with malice as she stared at Sophie's stomach.

Meanwhile, Sierra stood off to the side, observing the scene unfold with quiet relief.

Thank goodness she had married Theo instead. Had she ended up with Benson, she would have spent the rest of her life suffocated by Janet's control.

For a woman capable of so easily discarding her own grandchild, how could she ever show any kindness to a daughter-in-law?

Theo sat quietly beside her, his expression stoic and unreadable.

"Dad, now that everything is settled, Sierra and I will be leaving," he said.

Standing up, he instinctively reached for Sierra's hand, a gesture that caught Sophie off guard.

Her eyes flickered from Theo to Benson, the realization dawning on her.

No wonder Sierra had so easily let go of Benson.

Still, Sophie quickly dismissed any thoughts of Theo. She knew a man like him was far beyond her reach. She was lucky enough to have Benson.

"Cee..." Benson murmured, but his words fell on deaf ears.

As he watched Theo and Sierra walk away, a flash of regret crossed his face. He squeezed his eyes shut, fighting to suppress the emotions crashing over him.

If only he had never met Sophie. He and Sierra could have followed the path they had once dreamed of—marrying, having children, and growing old together, just as Edward had hoped.

But now, they had moved on, each with someone else. There was no going back.

Sophie exhaled softly, her hand instinctively resting on her stomach. As she lowered her gaze, a triumphant smile ghosted across her lips.

Seeing that she couldn't drive Sophie away, Janet let out a scoff before turning on her heel and storming out.
