A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 376

Yvette wanted to act as if she didn't see Theo's expression, but his demeanor was overwhelmingly intimidating. She had no choice but to casually let go of Sierra's cheeks and take her well-proportioned hand, which was just the right size to be held.

"No. Of course not. I would never chase you two out of here." Douglas hurriedly denied. Walking over to Sierra, he grinned, explaining, "Sierra, I just didn't expect to see you here. That was why I said something stupid. I was just shocked. That's all."

Sierra nodded politely, but she had a distant smile.

Douglas didn't see the subtle changes in her attitude. To be more accurate, he saw it but didn't care.

He even brazenly added, "Melody will be here in a while. Sierra, you'll know how nice she is when you see her in person. Then, you'll feel better about letting her reminisce with Theo. After that, all of us will have a meal together."

Sierra grinned faintly. She wasn't sure how she should respond to him, nor did she want to.

"Douglas, are you alright in the head?" Yvette laughed in exasperation and gave him a strange look.

Daniel and Simon were also utterly speechless. It looked like the advice they gave him earlier fell on deaf ears. As far as Douglas was concerned, Melody was the only person who mattered. He simply couldn't take advice from anyone.

Realizing that, they turned around and glanced at Theo, hoping that he would be merciful when he eventually taught Douglas a lesson.

"Get off Melody's back, Yvette. We were young and didn't know better at the time. Now that we're all grown-ups, you should be more graceful and poised," Douglas warned solemnly.

"Douglas, you can be a simp for Melody all you want, but don't expect me to do the same." Yvette mocked him without any hesitation. She had no intention to indulge him.

His expression darkened slightly, but he chose to let it slide for Simon's sake.

"Alright, fellows. We're all here, looking like a couple of goofs standing here. Let's go fishing and catch our lunch," Daniel suggested.

The others were okay with the idea and made their way to the fishing zone. During their walk there, Theo stayed next to Sierra, pushing the bushes and tree branches out of her way.

"Sierra, do you know your way around a fishing rod?" Yvette asked softly.
