Had Siena sensed Theo’s feelings? 

Upon hearing this, Sierra immediately realized she hadn’t misheard at the hospital that day, which left her with a sense of relief. 

She knew it. Then’s care for her was just the concem one would have for a younger relative, and there were no other intentions behind it. 

If he had someone he liked for a long time, how could he suddenly tall for her? 

“It’s nothing, Adrian. Don’t mention the question I asked you to Uncle Theo. I’m going home now,” 

It was someone else’s privacy, and she already felt it was inappropriate to ask about it. 

Adrian was left confused by Sierra’s words, faintly feeling that something wasn’t quite right. However, seeing that she had already turned to leave, he didn’t dare ask further. He could only leave with his doubts as he drove away. 

Just as Sierra entered the community, she suddenly heard someone calling her. 

“Cee.” The gentle voice made her stop in her tracks. Her body stiffened, and when she looked up, she saw Vera standing downstairs before walking quickly toward 

“Cee, I’ve called you several times these past few days. Why didn’t you answer? Do you know how worried I was?” Vera walked up to her with concern and anxiety. Sierra looked at the concern on Vera’s face, lightly pressed her lips together, and spoke indifferently. “My SIM card is broken, so of course, you couldn’t reach me. Didn’t you know that, Mom?” 

Vera’s expression shifted slightly, and guilt flashed in her eyes. “I’m sorry, Cee. I know you’re still angry with me for lying to you. It was wrong of me to deceive 

you. 

As she spoke, her eyes reddened, and tears streamed down her cheeks. Upon noticing the bandage on Sierra’s ankle, she quickly asked, “Cee, what happened to your foot?” 

“I sprained it when I jumped down from upstairs that day.” 

“Is it serious?” Vera quicidy asked with obvious worry. 

Sierra met Vera’s gaze and saw the heavy dark circles under her eyes. A wave of indescribable emotions surged within her, she couldn’t help but tighten her grip on the purse. 

Remembering the birthday gift Vera had prepared for her, resentment, sadness, and grievance all collided together at this moment as if they would all overflow, She held back her emotions and spoke, “It’s fine now, Mom. If you’re here to ask me to forgive William, please leave.” 

After speaking, she took a step forward. 

“Cee.” Vera held her and spoke as she walked beside her. “I just wanted to see you as I’m worried. I even made your fa 

favorite shepherd’s pie, and it’s still warm.” 

Sierra saw the thermal food container placed on the ground ahead. She pursed her lips and didn’t say anything more. 

Vera helped her back inside the house, making Sierra sit on the couch, before washing her hands. She then opened the container and placed the steaming shepherd’s pie in front of Sierra. The savory aroma filled the air. 

She washed a towel and gently wiped Sierra’s hands before handing her the fork with a gentle, loving smile 

“Try it.”
