Chapter 82 Xavier’s Injury 

Seeing Siena’s firm attitude, Vera didn’t force her to take the money and let out a soft sigh “Cee, If you ever need money in the future, you must tell me. Don’t try to manage on your own, understars?” 

“Mm.” Sierra nodded. 

Vera lett with her back looking somewhat sad and lonely. 

Serta watched her disappearing figure. Her nose tingled, and her eyes filled with tears. She knew that her words today had upset Vera. No matter what, ,she didn’t want to walk down a path she knew was wrong just to please others. 

She wiped away her tears, then went back to her room and checked her savings on her phone. 

For the past three years, she had been with Benson as the company grew. After the company was established, Benson wanted to give the company shares. She was too naïve and foolish at the time, however, thinking that she would marry him and become part of the family, so she turned it down. 

She had always been the company’s designer and was promoted to design director last year. She worked hard and brought many clients to the company, so her commissions and bonuses were quite good. 

On top of that, Benson had been generous with her salary, which exceeded the market average. Her daily expenses were minimal, so she had saved quite a bit. Now, she had almost 500,000 dollars in her account. 

She thought of using the money to buy a car for commuting, at least for convenience, and the remaining funds would go toward continuing her piano lessons. 

After the piano competition, she could also take on some design work to earn extra money. 

She could live well without relying on others. A glimmer of hope rose in her heart, but suddenly, there was a sharp ring of the doorbell. She frowned, stood up, and walked to the door. 

She saw Vera’s anxious face on the screen and immediately opened the door. “Mom, what’s wrong? 

“Cee, I… I just got a call from the hospital. Xavier was beaten, and he’s seriously injured,” Vera answered as her tears fell, her body going limp. 

Sierra quickly supported her as she frowned in confusion “Mom, don’t panic. I’ll come to the hospital with you.” 

“okay…” 

Twenty minutes later, Sierra belped Vera to the hospital. 

Upon seeing Xavier lying in the bed crying out in pain with blood staining his body, Vera nearly fainted. Fortunately, Sierra caught her. 

“Mom, don’t worry. Let’s first ask the doctor what’s going on,” Sierra reassured her. 

“Doctor, how is my son?” Vera grabbed the doctor’s sleeve and asked anxiously 

“The patient has some external injuries. His arm is dislocated, but it’s not life–threatening. There are also visible injuries to his abdomen, and we need to take an X -ray to check. Let the nurse handle his wounds first.” 

Upon hearing that it wasn’t life–threatening, Vera visibly relaxed and let go of the doctor’s sleeve. Tears still couldn’t stop flowing from her eyes. 

“Thank you, doctor.”
