Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2213
Naturally, Caspian could take care of her, but he could never replace her parents, ever. It’s no wonder that she didn’t really talk about her parents recently. Wait, doesn’t that mean she has found out about it? But that doesn’t seem right. She wouldn’t be so calm if she knew about it.
“Alright, stay here and rest. You don’t have to worry about work for now. I need to go now.” Before Larry left, he reminded Caspian, “Remember to be nice to Jessica.”
Caspian shook his head despondently. Seems like Jessica’s got a hard time ahead of her… He suddenly felt sorry for her.
“Hey, what’s up?” Jessica inquired as she ambled over.
“H-Huh? O-Oh, it’s nothing. I-I was just spacing out,” Caspian stammered.
Does she know her parents are dead? Caspian scanned the woman before him curiously, his heart engulfed with sadness.
Hmm, I don’t think she knows. I guess I have to take things slow.
“Miss, can you help your boyfriend to apply the ointment?” Suddenly, a nurse scurried over and asked for Jessica’s help. “I’m too busy to do it now.”
Is this a joke? Do we look like a couple? Displeasure flitted across Jessica’s gaze.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Caspian hurriedly explained.
“Ah, I see,” came the nurse’s reply. “But I’m really busy and can’t help you apply the ointment right now. Why don’t you apply it yourself?”
Caspian nodded without a word.
All the while, Jessica was still brooding about the nurse misunderstanding their relationship. Sensing her foul mood, Caspian took the ointment and applied it to his wounds slowly.
“Ngh…” he groaned as a wave of pain rolled through him.
He gritted his teeth against the agony. Jessica, who was seated on the couch, frowned at the sight of him wincing in pain. She stood up and went to him at once.
After all, he got hurt because of her.
“Let me help you. It’s not like you can reach it yourself, anyway,” Jessica offered.
