A Touch of Sweetness (Finnick Norton and Vivian William) novel Chapter 2266

Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2266

“Hold on. I will call the doctor right now.” Delilah rushed out of Joan’s room.

This is serious! No wonder she didn’t want to eat dinner! Larry is such a careless man. He was in the room for over half an hour, yet he did not notice her discomfort.

Delilah was on her way to find the doctor when she coincidentally ran into Dustin.

“Ms. Young, what happened? Why are you in such a hurry?” the man asked.

“Sorry, I don’t have time to talk. Joan’s stomach is hurting badly. I need to go find the doctor,” Delilah responded while still running in panic.

“Ms. Young! I will go and find the doctor. It will be faster if I drive. You go home and take care of Joan!” Dustin shouted without hesitation.

At that instant, Delilah felt as though her burden was half relieved. “Okay! Please hurry!”

Back in the room, Joan was tossing and turning in her bed, groaning in agony. She wanted to scream, but she was drained of all energy.

Beside her, she could feel Lucius holding her hand tightly while trembling in fright. “Mom, hold in there. Grandma will be back soon with the doctor.”

It’s Lucius!

Joan struggled to look at her son’s face, but she could barely keep her eyes open.

“Mom, it’s me, Lucius. I am right here. Don’t worry. I won’t leave you,” Lucius whispered while caressing her face.

“Good boy. Mom loves you the most.” Joan choked on her words. Perhaps besides Lucius and Ms. Young, there is no one else left in my world.

“Son, promise me you will be good and listen to your Grandma. She is old already. Don’t make her angry, understand?” Joan started to mumble in front of Lucius.

Lucius suddenly burst into tears. “Mom, why are you talking like this? You will be fine. Stop talking. The doctor will be here shortly.”

In fact, Joan was trying to distract Lucius, as she did not want him to worry about her. However, Lucius mistook those for her last words.
