Chapter 3011
It took a lot of effort, but Jessica finally moved all her belongings into the house that Larry had found for her.
"What do you think? This house isn't too shabby, is it?"
Larry asked as he glanced around.
"Oh, yes. It's pretty good.Thank you so much, Larry"
Jessica hurriedly replied.
Wait a minute, when has she become this polite? Larry looked at Jessica quizzically, a feeling of unease slowly coming over him. He was worried that she might still be upset, especially with how things had ended between her and Caspian.
Because even though she never said it, Larry knew she hadn't gotten over him completely.
After all, it was hard to forget someone who had given you so much to remember, and Larry knew that better than anyone else.He had also experienced the pain of losing a loved one when he thought Joan had died in an accident, so he knew the agony Jessica must be in now.
What a pity it was that their relationship had to end.
It was such a loving and beautiful one, yet Caspian just had to ruin it.
What the hell is that fool thinking about? Ditching Jessica for another woman who doesn't even like him? Larry sighed, still annoyed with how Caspian had treated Jessica.
"It's okay, Larry.Marriage is destined just like life and death.Perhaps, Caspian and I are just not meant to be; Jessica said self-deprecatingly.Of course, she wanted nothing more than to have Caspian show up and take her back. But deep down, she knew that would be highly unlikely.
Rather than fantasizing about the impossible, Jessica knew it was time for her to sober up and do what was best for herself. So what if my love is gone? I still have Larry and my career.
And with a flourishing career like hers, there was no need for her to bother herself with the affairs of the heart.
"Jessica, you're my sister. No matter what happens in the future, you can count on me to always have your back!"
Jessica smiled, greatly comforted by his words.
"Hey, Joan, did you hear that? Larry doesn't want you anymore. He said he's sticking with me!"
She joked as she wrapped her arm around his shoulder.
Joan laughed and shook her head.
What a rascal, always teasing me! If this had been in the past, Joan would have blown her top.
