"Lady Qi, how can you be so sure about what you are saying?" Adam was giggling, reiterating the same question.

"Of course, I'm very sure! My men dumped her in the river on a rainy day. With the high water level and increased intensity of the waves, how could she possibly survive?"

"You tell me. Lady Qi, I handed her to you on a silver platter and now you are telling me that you aren't sure where she is? That's not my problem, is it?"

Amy was exasperated by Adam's denial. His calmness infuriated her. Despite his crisp voice, it was clear he was the devil reincarnation.

"Adam Huo, this is going too far. It was you who abducted Linda. I will tell Young Master Mu everything."

Amy said, after a brief moment of silence.

Clearly, such a threat meant nothing to Adam.

Boiling with rage, Amy added, "She isn't Linda Xia, is she? The real Linda Xia is buried deep in the river."

Her pupils contracted violently and she cried heatedly, "Adam, did you record me?"

"Yes and why not? If Charles Mu received a copy of the recording, how would he fight back against your Qi clan?"

Calm as he was, a chill run up her spine.

She could hardly imagine how Charles would react if the recording fell into his hands.

What she did know was that he would resort to implementing sanctions against the Qi clan, making it impossible for them to secure a place in SH.

She took a deep breathe and held the phone tightly. "What do you want?"

"Simple! There was a deal between us. Don't you remember your promise to me?"

"What is it?"

"Well, you agreed to sign off half of Qi clan's property for Linda Xia. The deadline is in half a month, remember?"

It struck her that because of her hatred for Linda, she had readily accepted Adam's terms. She blamed Linda for taking everything away from her and causing her to struggle alone in Britain. Back then due to hatred, she had lost her mind and made a deal without thinking.

Now, she realised that it had been a bad deal.

If her parents knew about what she had promised to do, the consequences would be severe.

"What are you talking about?" Amy was trying to think of a plan to get herself out of this hell hole she had dug herself into. She decided to deny just as he had done.

If he planed to act shamelessly, then she would as well. She was too impulsive to consider the consequences back then but now she regretted it.

She was upset with Adam because of that. She wanted to pretend like it never happened.

She would continue to investigate the fake Linda in private.
