Meanwhile, Yona had led the Scorching Heaven Sect members to the Luminous Sect camp at the bottom of the mountain. I promised Wrey as well as the others that I'd eliminate Luminous Sect and replace their position. I must keep my word! I can't live in hiding forever!
Luminous Sect hadn't found an appropriate spot to set up camp. They were only staying there temporarily to rest.
“Master, do you think the remaining sects will conspire against us now that we've grown apart from them?” Archer asked Matthew.
“I doubt it. After all, they're righteous sects. I don't think they need to do that when they can simply cut contact with us,” Matthew answered. I still believe in the other sects. We may bear grudges against each other, but I don't think we're at a point where they'll want to wipe us all out.
“We need to find a spot far away from them. Otherwise, they'll keep troubling us,” said Skyler.
“There's no hurry. We can take our time searching for an ideal spot. This secret realm doesn't seem to have a master, and it's pretty big. I bet there are many valuable regions here that haven't been discovered! Let's all rest for now. We'll resume our search tomorrow.” Matthew promptly lay on his bed. Frankly, I'm still concerned about Jared's safety. I wonder if he has escaped.
Skyler and Archer went to rest as well. Only two disciples of Luminous Sect patrolled the area to prevent any stray demon beasts from disturbing them.
At that moment, the disciples noticed a shadow rapidly approaching them.
Before they could shout, they felt the sensation of pain coming from their chests.
They dropped to the ground, dying in a pool of their own blood.
Thud! Thud!
While the sound they made when they collapsed was faint, Matthew still heard it.
