Chapter 290
Luckily, Chloe, the elder sister, heard the commotion and quickly ran out of
her rented apartment.
She was taken aback when she witnessed the scene but swiftly dialed for an
ambulance.
“Abellyn, Zane, what on Earth have you done? This reckless act will only bring
you harm and offer no rewards!” She couldn’t help but consider these two as
imbeciles, particularly her sister.
She hadn’t even finalized her divorce with Ryder, and now they had stirred up
such a tremendous fuss. Soon, everyone would discover her extramarital
affair. What will become of her reputation?
“Hmph, it was an act of self–defense. He intended to crush me with a stone,
forcing me to resort to hitting him with the car. You two will provide witness
testimony for me!” Zane asserted with unwavering conviction.
“A–Alright.” Abellyn was about to comply, but Chloe seized her arm forcefully,
conveying a silent message through her piercing gaze, urging her to remain
silent.
She had a few more tricks up her sleeve than Abellyn. She had a feeling that
her sister hadn’t fully captured this man’s heart in her hands, so she had to
keep all her cards close to her heart before the dust settled.
If he failed to include her sister’s name on the property certificate, she would
not provide her testimony. Then, we’ll see how he will navigate this
problematic predicament.
The ambulance swiftly arrived at the scene and whisked Ryder away to the
hospital. As none of them notified the Lowe family of this accident, Emmanuel
was completely oblivious to his brother’s dire conditions.
Two days later, a group of young, fashionable, and incredibly good–looking
men and women prepared to board a luxury coach to Flower Mountain early
in the morning.

Initially, Mackenzie was reluctant to squeeze into the coach with everyone
else. It didn’t matter how luxurious it seemed, it was still really packed, and
she disliked having people in her personal bubble. Yet, for some unknown
reason, she suddenly agreed to their proposal.
So, not only were Mackenzie and Claudette, two renowned beauties from
Yeringham, but also Roselynn and some other relatively famous beauties
were forced to squeeze themselves into the bus. The men on the bus were
unusually excited.
The seats in the luxury coach could accommodate three people in a row.
Mackenzie wanted to avoid being harassed by other men, so she sat by the
window and asked Emmanuel to sit next to her.
This way, no one could disturb her while she handled official business on the
bus.
She was a well–known workaholic in Yeringham, and everyone was not
surprised by her actions. Instead, they were curious about who the man
sitting next to her was. They had never seen him before.
The only people on the bus who knew the identities of Emmanuel and
Mackenzie apart from Roselynn and her husband were Hubert and Claudette.
But since Emmanuel had already taken the middle seat, Hubert had no
chance to get close to Mackenzie. So, he could only shoot Claudette a
meaningful look, signaling her to go ahead.
Claudette had sat together with Emmanuel and Mackenzie before, so it was
natural for her to take the seat.
Because of Mackenzie’s reserved nature, Claudette engaged in playful
banter with Emmanuel throughout the right.
“Silly girl, remember to take the initiative when you meet your Mr. Lowe
tomorrow. Flirt with him right in front of Mackenzie. Only then can you provoke
their conflict!”
“As long as they have an argument, it will be your perfect opportunity to
capture Mr. Lowe’s affection!”
The words of her Laura echoed in Claudette’s ears. Of course, she filtered out
-the part about dressing provocatively and initiating physical contact with
Emmanuel.
Mackenzie, who had been focused on her laptop since they boarded the bus,
indeed began to act strangely. She occasionally cast sidelong glances at
Emmanuel.
