Chapter 392
After two unfamiliar men brought Emmanuel out, they asked him to wait in
place near the police station and said that someone else would come to see
him. Then, they left first.
Emmanuel didn’t understand what was going on, and he didn’t even know
the identities of these two strangers.
Last night, he gave his statement and recorded his testimony at the police
station. He insisted that he acted in self–defense, and today he was released.
Although he had been worried that Magnus and the Verkade family would
interfere and make him rot in jail, he still had faith in the law of Chanaea, and
sure enough, he was released so quickly.
However, when he recalled last night’s events, he felt a sense of regret and
pain in his heart.
He wondered if Mackenzie and Claudette were all right.
Emmanuel knew that because of this incident, he and Magnus had become
mortal enemies, and Magnus definitely wanted to kill him!
Of course, he would never let Magnus off either.
What Emmanuel didn’t expect was that while he was lost in thought, two
MPVs suddenly appeared at the corner.
One was in front and the other one was behind. They were blocking his way!
Emmanuel was secretly alarmed and he wondered whether this was of
Magnus‘ deduction. Did Magnus already know that he had been released
from the police station and sent people to ambush him in advance?
However, it seemed unlikely. Magnus was very smart. He would know that
sending ordinary people to openly confront Emmanuel would have a very low
chance of success, and Emmanuel might even end up finding evidence to
turn the tables and bring trouble back to him.
Soon enough, Emmanuel saw his granddad, Hermann, who needed support
just to get out of the car. He was speechless. These top-notch relatives of his
were really persistent!
“Hmph! Emmanuel! You’ve caused so much misery for the Cadigan family
and even sent my grandson to jail! I’m going to teach you a lesson today!”
Hermann was threatening Emmanuel and blaming all the suffering his
grandson endured on the Lowe family.
In his eyes, Emmanuel, this toy boy, had some skills and was just living off
Mackenzie’s support. However, he heard that Mackenzie had dumped
Emmanuel, so he brought so many people today. He was certain he could
finish him off.
Emmanuel wasn’t afraid of him bringing people to cause trouble for him. He
was only concerned that Hermann would target his sister and mother. So, he
remained composed and calmly asked, “Granddad? Uncle Emerson, how did
you know I was here?”
Hmph!
Hermann snorted coldly. “Pulling strings doesn’t help now! Anyway, you can’t
escape your fate. I can tell you that the Verkade family has actually been
supporting us all along. Otherwise, how could they have nearly cursed you to
death last time?”
Emmanuel found it even more amusing. If someone could be cursed to
death by mere words, that person must be incredibly fragile, right?
Nevertheless, Hermann’s words cleared up his doubts. So, it was the Verkade
family providing financial support from behind the scenes. It made sense
because there was no way the Cadigan family, a bunch of freeloaders, could
have stirred up such a big storm alone.
Since the Verkade family was manipulating things from the shadows, it was
only natural that they could ambush him here so quickly.
It seemed that with Magnus in the distance and the Verkade family brothers
up close, his days in Yeringham were destined to be difficult. At least he
couldn’t maintain the same level of tranquility as before!
“Don’t waste time talking to him. Let’s attack while there are fewer people
here! Go and get him! Kill him!”
Emerson was impatient and immediately shouted in a rage.

There were several burly men behind them and each of them pulled out their
machetes while exuding a murderous aura.
Clearly, they came prepared!
However, before they could pounce on Emmanuel, a black six–wheeled
vehicle directly rammed toward them like a crazed beast!
