Jennifer looked at Donald, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions. “You’re not going to leave me, are you?” she asked softly.
Donald knew Jennifer’s insecurities were rooted in her childhood. His heart ached for her as he held her hand firmly. “I’ll always be here for you,” he reassured her.
“Don’t leave me. You’re all I have now,” Jennifer said, her voice trembling as she wrapped her arms tightly around Donald, holding on as if her life depended on it.
Irene had always been bothered by Jonathan’s declaration. It was something she couldn’t let go of.
For the past few days, she hadn’t been able to see Jonathan. Finally, she managed to catch him during a visit to his company. Many people had been sending her gifts, hoping she’d introduce their daughters to Jonathan.

Irene grabbed his arm, her voice full of concern. “I’m saying this because I care about you! I’ve always had high hopes for you. I pulled strings to get you into the best school and guided you to make all the right choices.
“And then, out of nowhere, you rushed into marrying some pampered rich girl who doesn’t know how to do anything. You come home from work and still have to do her laundry and cook for her. I just want what’s best for
you.”
Jonathan sighed, gently removing her hand from his arm. “She’s my wife, my
