Charlotte said, “No, it’s because you’re ignoring me. I already know I was wrong. I came over to Ms. Kensington hoping she’d cast fie as the female lead. I’ve taken what yoit said to heart. 

Aubrey gave her a look before walking towards Lysander and Elara. 

Seeing them together, he said, “Lysander, Elara.* 

“He’s really your brother!” Charlotte blurted out to Aubrey. 

Lysander glanced between Aubrey and Charlotte, realizing they did, in fact, know each other. 

“When did you get a girlfriend?” he asked, his tone cold. 

Aubrey looked at Lysander, noticing just how angry Lysander was. 

Actually, he’d had a bad feeling about this the entire way over. 

He turned to Charlotte, who was standing beside him. “What did you do to offend my brother?” he asked. 

Charlotte heard what Aubrey said and pressed her lips together, then put on an innocent expression. “I didn’t offend him. I just came over to ask Ms. Kensington if I could be the female lead in her novel. I don’t know why they keep picking on me and bullying me…” 

Of course, she wasn’t going to admit her attitude was the problem. 

Aubrey hadn’t been there anyway, and it wasn’t like he and Lysander shared the same mother. 

Therefore, Charlotte thought that Aubrey would definitely defend her when he heard that Lysander was bullying her! “You mean my brother’s bullying you?” Aubrey asked, disbelief in his voice as he looked at Charlotte. 

Charlotte looked at Aubrey and nodded emphatically. “Yes! They just keep ganging up on me!” she said, trying to hide behind Aubrey, hoping he’d defend her. 

But Aubrey grabbed her firmly by the arm. “Tell me the truth. What did you do to Lysander and Elara?” 

His tone was fierce now, completely different from how gentle he usually was around Lysander. 

In front of Charlotte, though, he was assertive. 

If Lysander had called him over, it was clear Charlotte must have caused trouble. 

Therefore, no matter how hard she tried to play innocent, Aubrey could see through her. 

Seeing his anger, Charlotte stammered, “I didn’t… It’s really them! 

Aubrey sighed and turned to Lysander. “I’m sorry, Lysander. I broke up with her a while ago. I had originally thought of casting her as the heroine in Elara’s novel to earn a bit of goodwill with Mom, so you both wouldn’t dislike her as much. But I didn’t expect her to offend Elara!” 

Elara was speechless. 

She knew now why Charlotte had to come and insisted on acting in her novle. 

It turned out that it had something to do with Aubrey.

Lysander shot a look at Elara and said, “Let’s go now.”

But Lysander and Elara ignored him. 

Aubrey looked back at Charlotte and couldn’t help but sigh.
