Chapter 254
At the doorway, Crispin glanced at Lysander’s unhappy expression and asked, “Want a smoke?”
Lysander replied, “No need, Elara doesn’t like it.”
Crispin raised an eyebrow. “You’re really this afraid of her?”
Lysander didn’t bother to argue. His frown deepened.
Crispin asked, “What’s going on? You were all smiles earlier. It’s your wedding day.”
“Elara might be in love with someone else,” Lysander said with frustration.
Lysander couldn’t shake the thought, especially after what she had said to him.
Crispin looked at Lysander, visibly concerned. “That can’t be true, right? You’ve been together for so long, and you’re married now!”
Everything had seemed fine in the morning. But now, things felt entirely different.
Crispin asked, “What happened?”
Lysander sighed. “She said someone else is more important to her now.”
She’s not talking about Asher, is she?” Crispin suggested.
“Asher?” Lysander’s expression darkened. “That’s impossible.”
“But if she’s suddenly said that, it must related to him. I heard Asher went to the Kensington family home this morning. He even brought something for Elara! It was something he won at an auction.”
He continued, “Honestly, that guy is unbelievable. He’s married and still stirs up trouble! What if he’s deliberately trying to edge in on your relationship? Maybe Elara was touched by the gesture.”
Crispin finished speaking, and Lysander’s expression grew even more sour. “Where did you hear that?”
Crispin replied, “About Asher? One of the bridesmaids mentioned it!”
Juan came out of the room in her wheelchair. When she saw Crispin and Lysander, she said, “I’m heading back now.”
As she spoke, she gave Lysander a meaningful glance, her gaze colder than ever.
Usually, Elara’s best friend’s attitude mirrored her own, and Juan’s cold look sent a chill down Lysander’s spine.
Juan’s gaze made Lysander’s heart turn cold.
Crispin asked, “Done talking?”
Juan nodded.
“I’ll take you downstairs,” Crispin said, accompanying her out of the room.
Once they were gone, Lysander returned to the room, where Elara was still eating. She hadn’t eaten much and had just taken a sip of water.
He approached her and asked, “Finished talking?”

Elara nodded. “Yes”
Lysander studied her carefully as if he had something on his mind, but he held back.
Elara looked up at him, noticing his complicated expression. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
Lysander replied, “Nothing. Do you want to rest a bit longer, or should we head home?”
Elara said, “Let’s say goodbye and head back. I can’t sleep anymore anyway.”
After lying down for a while, she felt more awake.
Elara stood up and said, “By the way, about that important person I mentioned earlier.”
Lysander interrupted. “You don’t need to explain. I already know
Elara asked, “You do? Did Crispin tell you?”
Natalie knew about it, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Crispin had heard it from her.
Lysander responded, “Yes.”
He started gathering Elara’s belongings, packing them into her bag.
Elara watched him, finding his behavior odd. “You already know and yet you’re upset?”
-She wondered if this sudden news had caught him off guard.
Hearing her comment, Lysander looked up at her. “Should I be happy?”
Elara was taken aback.
He was going to be a father, but he wasn’t happy.
Elara asked, “Are you sure you know what I’m talking about?”
Lysander said, “Yes. Let’s go!”
It was clear he didn’t want to continue the conversation.
Elara found his reaction puzzling.
Many guests were still around. Felicity was busy entertaining relatives.
Elara approached them to say goodbye.
Felicity looked at her. “Feeling better?”
“Much better. Thank you for everything, Felicity,” Elara said with a smile.
Felicity replied, “It’s no trouble at all. You and Lysander should head home and rest. I’ll take care of everything here.”
Steven was also busy managing things.
Elara and Lysander really had little to worry about,
“I’ll go say goodbye to my dad. You should let Steven know, too, Elara told Lysander before walking toward her father.
Lysander watched her retreating figure solemnly.

She looked up at Lysander, who still had a serious expression and didn’t speak.
“Are you tired?” Elara asked.
Lysander replied, “Yeah.”
“How about some music?” Elara suggested, turning on some music to listen to.
Lysander ignored her.
When they got home, Elara got out of the car. Lysander parked the car, followed her, and suddenly grabbed her hand. T have something to say.”
