Crispin noticed Lysander’s seriousexpression and quietly put hi shirt back on. Only then did Lysander let go of Elara. He looked at Elara. “Are you done eating?” 

“Yeah. Elara had finished two boxes of drinks and a whole pile of barbecue, and she didn’t feel like eating anymore. 

“Then let’s head out,” Lysander took her out of the barbecue join. As soon as they got into the car, Elara received a call from the police, asking her to come down to the station. 

Since she was the one who had reported the incident involving Lizzie, Elara didn’t bother the hassle and went there herself. Lysander accompanied her. 

Lizzie’s parents were already there. When they saw Elara, they were polite and respectful. They didn’t seem like bad people at all. Their stance was clear. They were willing to apologize and hoped for a settlement. 

Lizzie had just taken her SATS, and her life was only beginning. The false rumors Lizzie spread online had caused quite a stir. and went viral. If Elara refused to settle, Lizzie would not only have to pay a fine but also face jail time. 

Looking at Lizzie’s parents‘ pitiful expressions, Elara felt a bit of sympathy for them. However, she made it clear that there would be no reconciliation. 

Not only would she refuse to settle, but she also intended to hire a lawyer to press charges against Lizzie, aiming for the harshest possible sentence. 

This wasn’t the first time Lizzie had spread rumors about Elara. Although Daphne had manipulated Lizzie, the harmful actions were entirely Lizzie’s doing. There was no doubt about that 

After dealing with everything, Elara and Lysander headed back home. On the way, Elara, feeling a bit tired, looked at Lysander and said. “Lysander, thank you? 

“For what?” Lysander asked. 

“For bringing people to help me handle this,” Elara replied. She was surprised when Lysander showed up at school. 

Lysander listened to her words and glanced at her, but didn’t say anything. 

Elara continued. “She lost a bet to me before and should have been expelled, but Daphne pleaded for her. I didn’t expect her to keep acting so disgusting. It’s like she just won’t quit until the very end. It’s a shame, really.” 

“What’s a shame?” Lysander asked. 

“It’s a shame I couldn’t drag Daphne into this mess too,” Elara said. 

Although today’s scene at school was quite a spectacle, with both Asher and Daphne embarrassing, for Elara, it still wasn’t enough. 

Asher had already returned home. Ever since he got back, Jefferson had been yelling at him, over and over again. “I never should’ve let your go to school. You’ve ruined your brain! What’s so good about Daphine!

Jefferson was furious, still bitter over the way Barrett publicly rejected him earlier. He was so close, so close to getting his hands on the Kensington family fortune, but Asher had blown the opportunity. 

Asher sat quietly, listening to his father’s rant, not saying a word. He was used to it by now. Ever since his mother left, his father had always said, “Your mom ran off because I wasn’t rich enough.” 

Asher often wanted to say. “Even if you had money, she would’ve still left you.” But he couldn’t be bothered to argue 

After Jefferson had finished ranting, he finally turned to Asher and said, “Tomorrow morning, you’re coming with me to the Kensington family.” 

Tm not going.” Asher replied bluntly. “Go and embarrass myself with you? Don’t you think today was humiliating enough? Do you even realize what people think of me now? How they’re all laughing at me behind my back?” 

Asher hadn’t dared to check his phone since the incident. He had always tried to keep people from finding out about his father, but now the whole world knew he wasn’t some rich kid. 

Instead, they knew his father was just a pathetic man, desperate to push him into living off someone ehe’s wealth. 

“Laugh at what? I’m trying to get you a chance!” Jefferson argued 

“I don’t need that kind of opportunity. Asher shot back. “From now on, stay out of my life. Or else…” 

“Or else what?” Jefferson interrupted, his voice rising. “You think you can threaten me?” As Jefferson spoke, he lunged toward Asher, ready to hit him. But Asher blocked his hand with ease. 

Now that he was grown, a six–foot–tall young man. Jefferson was no match for him, especially not at his current age. Asher shoved his father to the ground with one push. 

Coldly glancing at Jefferson, Asher didn’t hold back just because he was his father. Without another word, he turned and went back into his room. 

The next morning, Elara had just woken up when she spotted Jefferson,

If it had been in the past, Elara would’ve likely called Jefferson out for his nonsense, but this time, she stayed silent. She didn’t want to get involved in Asher’s matters, even though she knew Jefferson desperately wanted her to be with Asher. 

Barrett, who had been listening to Jefferson cry for quite some time, finally spoke up. “He’s grown now. You should start
