Shrouded by the darkness her office provided after lights out, with her eyes glued to the bright screen of her laptop, Anastasia replayed the CCTV footage she had gotten from Danco.

She studied the man’s movement, how he had approached Logan, his face shaded by the black hoodie he wore. She paused the video during moments of their interaction, trying to read the lips of Logan.

It was clear he rejected at first. He even looked appealed by the idea. But then his eyes suddenly showed the interest that had sipped into his mind after heading something that he hooded figure had told him.

What could it have been? Anastasia wondered as she watched the part of their interaction where Logan had indeed offered the hooded figure payment, in the form of raw cash, but he rejected, handed the drive over to Logan and walked out.

Smartly, the hooded figure had walked in the opposite direction waiting until the attention on his had lessened before he came back and entered the black car, which belonged to Lloyd, which had been parked on the other end.

Anastasia paused the video.

In the split second window that she had been given to see Lloyd’s face, she tried her very best to examine his expression, wishing to decipher what he was thinking when doing something like this.

But she couldn’t.

She couldn’t read his face or his expression.

“What exactly are you thinking Lloyd Riley?” She whispered, a hand coming up to run it’s way through her hair, pushing annoying strands back into place.

Once again, she resumed watching the video, more intensely this time around as she felt that she was missing something. It wasn’t normal for a boss and his employee who he claimed to have fired, yet didn’t exist in their data base, to take a nice drive down to their rivaling company and have a chat, only to have the employee sell a product for his boss.

It was either Lloyd wished for the demise of his own company, or he was being controlled by some sort of brain washing drug.

Ah, of course she couldn’t rule out the fact that Lloyd Riley, the man she knew nothing about, yet had fucked two times, also had a twin brother.

The second option sounded almost impossible, so Anastasia assumed that the first was the correct choice, but then again, the third seemed more plausible.

Sighing, Anastasia was about to call it a day, when one part of the video caught her attention. Said part happened to be when the ‘employee’ was entering Lloyd’s car.

He had used his left had to open the door, causing his hoodie sleeve to ride up slightly and reveal the glimpse of a thousand dollar watch on his wrist.

Now, two things had Anastasia’s mouth drawing into a thin line. The first being the obvious, which was that an employee couldn’t afford the watch that was seen in this video. And the second being the fact that she had seen that watch, less than twenty hour hours ago.

On the wrist of Lloyd’s assistant, Kareem.

“Ha! You’ve gotta be kidding me.” Anastasia hissed, slamming her fist against her desk as she glared at the computer screen.

All these time, Kareem had been playing her like a fool, acting all innocent, saying that he didn’t have the information from that employee, while knowing well enough that the ‘employee’ was none other than himself!

But then again, she knew he was working on orders. Orders which had to be given by Lloyd.

Was he so desperate for attention to the point that he was willing to ruin his own company? And why drag her into his nonsense?

No, Anastasia shook her head. She wasn’t going to allow this go on any longer.

Tomorrow morning, she was going to put a stop to whatever games Lloyd was playing. If he wanted to ruin his company, then he should do so without pulling her into it.

Slamming her laptop close, she couldn’t help the anger that bubbled inside her mind kept reminding her of Lloyd’s stupidity. At one point, her mind reminded her of what those ladies had said in the bathroom, the real cause of her disinterest towards Lloyd, and her anger intensified.

But, what the fuck was she angry about?

That Lloyd was screwing other girls while acting like he wanted to pursue her?
