"Xavier, Mr. Si…" Fay Zhao couldn't fathom the meaning behind Xavier Si's words and wiped a bead of cold sweat, wanting to explain.
However, he saw Xavier suddenly get aggressive, grabbing the sleazy man's hair and giving him a good beating.
"Is this what you meant when you said the bar's security is good and no one dares to cause trouble?"
With no signs of exhaustion, Xavier put the man down, dusted his hands, and coldly glanced at Fay Zhao.
"Xavier, Mr. Si, this... this was just an accident. I assure you, I'll deal with him..." Fay Zhao, drenched in cold sweat, quickly nodded in apology.
He then shouted at the guards, "What are you guys waiting for? Take this blind fool away!"
Before Fay could continue, Xavier gestured him to stop.
"I want a clear and reasonable explanation for today's events."
Xavier lazily approached Olivia Xia. His long fingers gently lifted her chin, and with an amused raised eyebrow, he said, "Pretty."
"Why are you here?" Olivia frowned, clearly displeased. As she attempted to push his hand away, he swiftly captured hers.
She struggled to free herself, but his strength was overwhelming.
"I asked you a question..." An irritated Olivia stared at him, "I gave you money, not to squander it in places like this."
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Xavier arched an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Just because you have money, you can waste it in such places?"
Getting married was a rash decision for Olivia. She never thought she'd be controlled by someone.
Even though Xavier had defended her, what right did he have to control her?
Before Olivia could vent her anger, Harper Murong, leaning against a wall, hiccuped and suddenly stood straight. Leaning onto Olivia's shoulder, her eyes shimmered as she looked at Xavier, "Darling, this man... he's so handsome…"
Olivia was speechless.
Compared to others, Harper continued, he's top-notch. Suddenly her gaze turned puzzled, "Wait, he looks familiar?"
"You're drunk; let me take you home."
Olivia tried to leave with Harper, but Xavier's grip on her hand remained firm.
She looked at him sternly, "Let go."
"I'll take you." Xavier pulled Olivia toward the exit, with her still supporting Harper. Before she could protest, they were on their way.
When she saw the same car Xavier had driven in the morning, Olivia asked from the backseat, adjusting the inebriated Harper, "Why didn't you return the car to your friend?"
"I was planning to after picking him up from the bar," Xavier replied calmly before starting the car.
Leaning her head against his seat, Olivia said, "So, you're blaming me?"
Feeling her warm breath on the back of his neck, Xavier's voice grew hoarser, "If you're referring to your decision to go out drinking, yes, I'm not pleased."
Olivia sighed.
"We were celebrating our marriage," she said, though her gaze out of the window was distant.
Was she truly happy?
She wasn't sure. After years of investing in a relationship, she ended up marrying a man she barely knew. It was all quite bewildering.
"Hmm," was all Xavier replied after a glance at her flushed face in the rearview mirror.
After dropping off the drunken Harper, Xavier turned to Olivia, asking where to next.
