After I left, the twin Alphas went crazy novel Chapter 145

I coughed softly when I heard the name “Lirian” mentioned from the kitchen.

My housemates seemed to be deep in conversation, their voices carrying just enough for me to catch snippets.

I tried not to eavesdrop, but curiosity nudged me forward.

As I entered the kitchen, Housemate One, Lauren, spotted me and greeted me with a warm smile. “Sophia! You’re back!”

I settled into my usual spot at the table, my mind still on what I’d overheard. “I just heard you guys say, Lirian’s girlfriend?”

I kept my tone casual, though my heart pounded. I hadn’t told anyone about my relationship with Lirian; we’d kept things discreet. Could my secret have slipped out somehow?

Lauren exchanged a glance with Housemate Two, Jia, who was sitting nearby with her coffee mug.

Jia lived next door but often dropped by to chat with Lauren. She looked at me with curious eyes, leaning forward as if intrigued.

“Oh, you know Lirian too?” she asked.

I nodded slowly, choosing my words carefully. “Recognize,” I replied, letting the hint hang in the air.

Lauren, her interest piqued, continued with a grin.

“I heard he’s quite the catch. Handsome, protective, and absolutely devoted to his girlfriend.

He even asked the people around to look out for her, so she wouldn’t be bullied.

She’s one lucky girl to have him. I mean, he’s from the Iron Claw Pack—that’s not a family you cross paths with easily!”

I felt a small surge of pride hearing others admire Lirian, though I kept a neutral expression.

The Iron Claw Pack did have a certain intimidating reputation, and knowing Lirian was theirs made me feel secretly proud.

But I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease—this was supposed to be my secret.

Jia jumped in, adding, “Actually, someone told me about his girlfriend, too. I heard she’s from around here.” She glanced at Lauren conspiratorially.

I chuckled inwardly, feeling a mixture of relief and amusement.

I had never breathed a word to anyone here about Lirian and me.

I’d come to college with one clear goal: keep a low profile, avoid unnecessary trouble, and finish my studies in peace.
