After I left, the twin Alphas went crazy novel Chapter 20

Ethan, still suspicious, had his men search the entire mansion. They found nothing. Finally, he had no choice but to believe Ryan’s lies and leave.

For a long time, Ryan didn’t think about me. He called off the search after a few days. "If she wants to be gone, so be it. I'm better off without her nagging and scheming."

To celebrate their newfound freedom, Ryan and Linda opened a bottle of expensive wine and toasted to their future together.

I watched them, my spectral form filled with bitterness, as they drunkenly stumbled towards each other. Linda giggled and nuzzled against Ryan. He stroked her hair, pulling her close.

"Ryan, after we get married, let's go to Hawaii for our honeymoon, okay?"

"Sure, baby. Wherever you want to go, we’ll go."

Eight years ago, when Ryan and I were married, there was no honeymoon. He said he didn’t like to travel. At the time, I didn't mind. We were married, and I thought we had forever to build our relationship and create memories.

I was wrong.

Three days after our wedding, Ryan brought Linda to live in the mansion. He’d said she was the daughter of his father’s friend, and she needed a place to stay temporarily.

That temporary stay lasted eight years.

Every anniversary, every birthday, every holiday, I would prepare a beautiful dinner, waiting for Ryan to come home. I would wait in vain. Linda always managed to steal him away. They went skiing, fishing, to the spa – they did everything a couple in love would do.
