My heart skipped a beat, and my mind raced. How could she know about the divorce fillings? We hadn’t told anyone, and I hadn’t expected Ceccily to be privy to such private details. The fact that she brought it up, with that innocent smile plastered on her face, made my skin crawl. 

“I don’t know what you’re trying to imply,” I said slowly, pulling my hand away from hers, “but Lorik and I will handle our own business. Derrick’s future isn’t up for discussion.” 

Ceccily’s eyes gleamed as if she had been waiting for that response. “Oh, I’m not implying anything.” she said with a light laugh. “I just think that you deserves a better man. A man who will love you 

ith all his heart, and give you a healthy love relationship.” 

I stared at Ceccily, feeling the weight of her manipulative words settling between us like an invisible wall. Finally. I just said without emotions, “Even if we do get divorced, I won’t be with your son.” 

Her smile vanished, and her expression turned hard and cold. “Don’t you despise my son because he’s a bastard?” she sneered, her voice dripping with bitterness. “The former Lorik was also a
