There was a brief pause before Andrew responded. “Although I can’t stand that woman, the effect of her endorsement is beyond expectation. The goods in the shops have been selling out recently,” 

Lorcia was silent for a moment before she scoffed. “That’s because your company’s product itself is good. It doesn’t have much to do with her, right?” 

Andrew’s voice remained calm. “It has everything to do with her. In the past, we used celebrity endorsements, but the results weren’t as good. I suppose it helps that she recently won the piano competition. Her fans have considerable purchasing power and fit our brand’s target demographic.” 

Lorcia was clearly unhappy with this explanation. After another pause, she asked, her voice tinged with malice, “So, Uncle Andrew, do you want her to remarry Lorik?” 

Andrew’s voice echoed coldly through the bathroom. “She’s not even close to the Luna of Silvermoon I have in mind. Lorik needs a more powerful mate.” 

Lorcia, always eager to grasp at the slightest chance of approval, asked tentatively, “And who is the 

Luna of the Silvermoon that Andrew has in mind?” 

Standing just outside the bathroom, I couldn’t help but sneer. Lorcia’s ignorance was almost pitiable. 

She didn’t understand Andrew, not really. He was a man obsessed with his reputation, a man who 

would discard anyone if they threatened his carefully constructed image. The scandal Lorcia had 

recently caused had damaged her standing, and without the backing of the Flameheart Tribe 

bringing Andrew substantial benefits, she was nothing more than a liability. 

Sure enough, Andrew’s response was as sharp as a blade. “Lorcia, you’re young and beautiful. There 

are plenty of male wolves who adore you. You don’t need to follow Lorik around every day.” 

The silence that followed was heavy, almost suffocating. Then, there was a muffled sound, and 

guessed that Lorcia had ended the call abruptly, unable to bear the sting of Andrew’s dismissal 

Moments later, the bathroom door swung open, and there she was, face–to–face with me. Her eyes widened slightly, then narrowed in anger. I could see the storm brewing inside her, a storm she was foolishly eager to unleash. 

“So, you were eavesdropping,” she accused, her voice laced with venom. 

I shrugged nonchalantly, letting a smirk curl my lips. “Hard not to, considering how loudly you were whining about your pathetic situation.”

At first, she cursed and raged, but as the water continued to pour, her resistance weakened. Her cursing turned to pleading.
