Half an hour later, I arrived at the hospital. 

“Hey, look! That’s Alpha Lorik’s car!” 

I could hear the whispers of passersby. “What’s the Alpha doing here?” 

The hospital director hurried out to greet me, but the real shock hit when they saw who stepped out of the driver’s seat–me.

Their eyes darted to the car, searching for Lorik’s figure, but of course, he wasn’t there. 

I casually removed my sunglasses, flashing a knowing smile. “It’s just me. I left your Alpha on the 

side of the road.” 

Gasps echoed around me as jaws practically hit the ground. With a shrug, I turned and strolled into the hospital, enjoying their stunned expressions. 

Since Lorik said I could do whatever I wanted with his car, I figured I’d take him at his word. After 

all, he could find his own way back to the pack. I had better things to do. 

I made my way to the hospital, where Jane was recovering. She looked much better than the last 

time I’d seen her, her face no longer pale and drawn. A small smile tugged at the corners of her 

mouth as she saw me walk in. 

“Hey,” I greeted her softly, trying to keep the worry from my voice. 

“Hey yourself,” Jane replied, her voice still weak but carrying a warmth that made me feel a bit 

lighter. “Oh…I’m really glad you came to visit,” she smiled, paused and stared at me, “It looks like, you’re all right too. Just…don’t do anything impulsive.” 

It seems that Jane doesn’t know that I have made a bet with Sosia and am going to duel, I thought to 

myself. I came here today to tell her about it, which will surely startle her.

Jane was quiet for a moment, her eyes searching mine. Finally, she nodded, though her worry hadn’t completely disappeared. “If you’re really going to do this, then maybe I can help. I’ve watched Sorcia fight more times than I can count. I know her strategies, her strengths, and her weaknesses. I can tell you what to expect, and how to counter her moves.” 

I was amazed by Jane’s offer. The way she spoke, with such clarity and precision, made it clear that she had put a lot of thought into this. “Jane, that would be incredible. I had no idea you knew so much about fighting.”

Jane shrugged, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. “I’m not good at much, but I’ve always been good at observing. Sorcia made sure I was around whenever she trained, and I guess I just picked up on 

things.” 

She started to analyze Sorcia fighting style in detail. Jane explained that Sorcia often began with quick, aggressive moves to surprise her opponents.
