In the luxurious office, there were only Hannah and Charles.
"Can we start now?" Charles said.
"Tell me the price." Hannah looked askance at him and said. She found it sick to talk with this man.
"3. 8 billion," Charles answered with a number directly. He didn't talk with her in a roundabout way, as he knew he couldn't sweet-talk her any more. It seemed as if she could see through all he managed to do. Thus, it was better to tell everything.
"2 billion," Hannah said with a counteroffer.
Charles looked displeased suddenly. He had held back his anger. When he heard Hannah's words, he was mad. "Don't you dare push me too hard, or we will fight at the risk of mutual destruction! At least, you cannot afford to offend Bills." He shut down upon his anger and spoke between clenched teeth.
A sneer flitted over Hannah's face. She came to see that Charles took Bills as his shield.
"Isn't Bills more afraid of me?" She asked a question in reply.
Charles felt a tightness in his chest.
"You have to realize that I've decided to take charge of the event planning project, for I'm the only one that qualified for it. If I quit, it will be the Bills Group that would suffer from loss. Don't you think he will care about my feelings? Put it another way, you can take the project, and so do I. Though the size of the Bead chain e-commerce platform is modest now. Do you think Bills would quit me or choose me to develop the Bead chain platform?" Hannah looked indifferent, but with a fine edge of sarcasm.
Charles clenched his fists, struggling for control. From the very beginning, Hannah not only thought she would be the ultimate beneficiary but also wanted to let Bills realize that the e-commerce project of Northfield belonged exclusively to her. So everything that had happened was all a part of her plan. Such is the woman that had always been despised by Charles but made him fail.
Charles glared at her with hatred and suppressed his mood, while Hannah was calm. Hannah felt comfortable and happy as she forced a concession out of Charles. When she cast her mind back to things that Charles had done, she even thought skinning him alive was befitting punishment for him.
She was weary of waiting for a little while. "Go home and think about it? If you can't accept, we will take legal action to dun you for the debt." Hannah said.
"Fine!" Charles readily agreed.
Hannah took a glance at him. She felt a little surprised that he was more adaptable to circumstances than she thought. In her view, Charles had been self-important and never accepted failure. Hannah remained emotionless and thought there was nothing admirable about him. Charles was such a man as could commit murder and arson for the sake of his interests.
"Sign the contract." Hannah passed him a contract.
Charles took it with anger. He wore a long face for the price "2 billion". Hannah reckoned that he would reach a compromise; otherwise, she couldn't have prepared every article in this contract ahead.
'This woman always led me by the nose these days.' He was increasingly angry when he thought of that. However, he had no other choice. Then he phoned Martina and let her in.
Martina became a little calm, but there were still tears in her eyes. Maybe she didn't expect that she would be so aggrieved today. She might not bear the day all her life. Charles said nothing. He was too angry to speak up a word, after suffering such a big loss. The project was valued at 4 billion, while Hannah took over it just for 2 billion. Though Cooper Group did spend 2 billion, it was still a big loss for Sawyer Group; for they had put a lot of effort into the project and the Collins family would take away 1 billion from it.
Charles left the Cooper building in anger, followed by Martina.
Martina let out a scream when got out of the building, "Charles, dad will get crazy if he knows we've sold our e-commerce platform at such a low price."
He seemed aloof and said, "Sawyer Group would not be saved if we didn't sell it. I don't want to talk about this any more, just forget about the e-commerce platform. You should give your full attention to other projects."
"I understand, but dad and you are not around me."
"I got other things to do."
She suppressed her anger and said, "All right. I can do anything as long as you put Hannah to death."
Charles looked unpleased all the time. Hearing Hannah's name, he became more furious. He got into his car and drove off directly.
