After the Divorce, I Took Revenge on My Ex-husband By Emma Scott novel Chapter 269

Chapter 269 Hallucinations

A frown appeared as Adrian suddenly placed a hand over his heart.

Adrian experienced severe discomfort in his heart, sensing the oppressive feeling of being unable to breathe correctly. It was as if a tight noose was strangling him, forcing him to open his eyes.

Adrian no longer had the woman who would bring him a cup of coffee this time.

It became evident that the silhouette Adrian had seen in his mind just now was merely a trick of his imagination.

Sienna’s slightest frown or smile, every single movement she made, her moments of happiness, painful weeping, and the sight of her completely breaking down with tears streaming down her face…

At that moment, they all rushed toward Adrian like an unbounded spring.

Sienna’s image remained fresh in his mind.

A continuous downpour had persisted for an entire day and night.

The relentless wind outside pounded on the glass panels with arrogance, reminiscent of a just-awakened angry beast. It blew against the villa’s surroundings and the willow tree Adrian frequently stared at. It made a swooshing sound, conveying both a bleak and

sorrowful ambiance.

As Adrian awakened from the sofa the following day, he could not help but notice the mounting heaviness in his body, along with a pervasive coldness that made him tremble ceaselessly.

It dawned on him that he was, without a doubt, suffering from a cold.

With exhaustion weighing him down, Adrian reached the bathroom. Despite feeling disoriented, he freshened up before heading upstairs to search for medicine.

For a full five years, Adrian had never fallen ill, making this sudden cold catch him completely off guard. The burning temperature coursing through his body felt like it could drain him completely.

Adrian struggled to make his way to the storage room on the second floor, finally reaching it with incredible difficulty. There, he found the medicine box hidden beneath

a stack of cardboard.

As Adrian opened the medicine box, a wave of endless memories engulfed him again.

The medicines inside the box were meticulously arranged, each one neatly placed. Every prescription in the box bore specifications and cautionary notes, and Adrian instantly recognized the elegant handwriting as belonging to the woman.

[Instructions for cold medicine. Take two tablets three times a day. But please, be careful not to take more than the prescribed amount!]

[Instructions for herbal medicine. Take one tablet twice a day. If the taste is bitter, you can have a piece of candy with it.]

Adrian remained silent and rooted to the spot, unable to move as he observed the text

before him.

“All of this… it was her thoughtful preparation. How have I never noticed her thoughtfulness?” Adrian mused.

Out of nowhere, a profound feeling of regret welled inside Adrian, forcing him to strike

the medicine box with a single punch, causing the medicines to spill and cover the floor.

Adrian gradually rose to his feet, steadying himself against the wall. As he looked at the

medications carefully arranged by Sienna, memories of her words echoed in his mind.

“I’ve tidied up your study. Remember to keep yourself warm, as it’s getting colder

today. By the way, I’ve placed these commonly used medications in the storage room. Don’t forget…”

The sound of Sienna’s tender words of advice and the bright, joyful smile on her face. lingered in his ears.

It resembled a soft, soothing breeze that touched his face, enveloping Adrian in the pouring warmth of sunlight.

Sienna’s nagging used to infuriate Adrian to no end. He always thought she deliberately wanted to get on his nerves. However, confronted with the reality before him, he could not suppress the frustration and the overwhelming self-reproach.
