Wilhelmina had no idea why Matthew would ask this, but she definitely couldn’t say otherwise. So, she nodded. “Of course! Willow and I grew up together, along with Skyler. We’re like sisters. And of course, she’s my best friend!”

Wilhelmina wasn’t sure if she was imagining things, but she thought she saw Matthew’s expression turn ever so slightly mocking

She was about to speak when Matthew coldly broke the silence. “Since she’s your best friend, why did you keep deliberately hurting her?

Wilhelmina instantly paled. She stared at Matthew in disbelief as her lip trembled uncontrollably. At long last, her voice returned to her. “What are you saying? Hurt Willow? What do you mean by that? I don’t get it. I don’t get it at all!” 

“You disappoint me.” Matthew didn’t continue to waste his breath on her. Instead, he placed the tablet computer he was holding in

front of her.

Wilhelmina saw that a video had been playing on the screen. Instinctively, she pressed the replay button. When she saw its contents, all the remaining color in her face drained away.

“You had someone spy on me?” she questioned.

“That’s not the point. But I do want to ask why you had to hurt Willow like this?” he asked her.

“You truly disappoint me, Willa!” 

“Why did you have to give Willow’s thumb to Skyler? And why did you let her feed it to the dog?”

Wilhelmina nearly jumped in fright. When she remembered that she was still supposed to be an invalid, she forced herself to stay still in bed.

“I didn’t know!” Wilhelmina shook her head while crying “I did give Willow’s thumb to Skyler, but I didn’t know she would feed it to a dog!”

Wilhelmina clenched her teeth as she decided to save herself. She stopped denying her involvement. Instead, she grabbed Matthew’s hand in a pitiful way. “I’ll tell you everything, Matt. Don’t hate me, okay?

“I was the one who deliberately hurt Willow the last two times! But I truly never thought of actually harming her physically! I tried to stop you when you wanted to chop off her hand, but you wouldn’t listen to me. I had no choice but to let you take only her finger

“I really hadn’t wanted to hurt Willow. I only wanted you to hate her! I’m so scared, Matt! I’m just so scared that you’ll fall in love with her!”
