Six months later and things have only got better.
Leo is still sending Hestia and her goods groceries and toys, whilst also paying for childcare so she can still work the days her Husband used to take care of them.
The Junior institute is now empty of orphans after we set up an adoption scheme for and they are now all happily homed around the pack and being monitored by psychiatrists to check they are adjusting normally.
Since the building is now unused, I am currently lobbying for it to be transformed into a training facility for the pack women. Maria and Elena's secret training is in full-swing and has already done miracles in teaching young girls how to defend themselves. Just imagine what they could do with proper equipment and finances.
Getting Leo onboard is a work in progress.
Relative to how I found him back in October, he is now a feminist Goddess. More women had taken up leadership roles in the pack, Maria was publically celebrated as a pack hero for taking Haden down in the war, the mates of the Megestanis all now by pack law had to be actively involved in their factions too and teaching his soldiers to respect and cherish women had become one of Leo's top priorities.
But by nature, he was still fiercely protective. He said that if he allowed women to fight, next they'd be fighting battles and getting hurt and that he wouldn't stand for women getting hurt.
So it is a work in progress but I know with enough persuasion, they'll be more self-defence training at the very least.
Meanwhile, Cato is growing up fast. With all sharp edges in the house padded and every staircase, gated, he has begun crawling like crazy. Fortunately, if you take your eye off him for a moment and he wanders off you can usually just follow the giggling and happy gargling to track the little rascal down.
Every day he looks more like Leo. His eyes are the same vibrant blue and as little tuffs of golden brown waves begin to grow, their resemblance only get stronger. I just can't wait to see his personality blossom too and watch him grow up into the great Alpha I'm sure he will one day become.
