Alpha Loren novel Chapter 65

November 15th

After that I spent the rest of the evening in the library improving my Latin and Italian.

I read 3 books and had a dictionary beside me to help translate any words I didn't yet know.

At around 7pm Leo came into the room and immediately noticed me sat in an armchair in the corner.

"Buona sera straniera," he greeted meaning 'good evening stranger' in English.

"Hi," I replied not taking my eyes off the book as he kneeled down besides me.

"Why do you need a dictionary when you have me?" He asked as I flicked through looking for the translation of the Latin word 'mythicon'.

"Because you're annoying," I said slapping his hand off my leg.

"I've barely seen you all day," he complained putting his hand back on my leg.

"I'm trying to concentrate!" I declared pushing his hand away one again.

"Yeah, but you've been doing this for ages and I'm bored," he argued reaching his lips up to mine as I moved my head away from him.

"Then go and amuse yourself... or better still go and find Amber. I'm sure she'd be glad to do the job," I retorted the spite lingering in the back of my throat showing through.

"You're still mad about that?" he asked and I didn't reply.

My wolf was still hurt so I wasn't exactly going to jump at the chance to forgive him.

"It was weeks ago Ella. It was before I had a mate and meant nothing more than simply full filling a man's natural impulses to mate," he explained.

"But if we swapped positions in this situation and Amber was in fact Brad or Chad from down the street, you wouldn't see it like that would you?" I asked.

"You already knew that I have a past," he pointed out his voice deepening.

"And you're allowed to have one, but I'm not am I?" I questioned. "I can't even be touched by another man."

"I can't help being protective over you. Especially since recent events," Leo explained putting his hand back on my leg.

"Great, but that's not the point of the conversation," I replied pushing his hand off me for about the 4th time. "And you can't refuse to tell me about 'recent events' and then expect me to understand."

"Then what is the point of the conversation. It's not like I can go back in time to my when I was 17 and keep my virginity is it?" He said his temper rising a little.
