Always Been Yours (Tessa and Nicholas) novel Chapter 1231

After hearing what Belinda said, Francis thought she had a point. Still, he stared doubtfully at Oliver. “Was it really not you?”

“It wasn’t me,” Oliver declared firmly. Francis frowned. “If it wasn’t you, then why is Sawyer Group still coming after Hadfield

Group? Did someone do it in your name?” As soon as Francis said those words, Oliver immediately thought of Wanda. He grew pale with fury. Francis noticed Oliver’s reaction and instantly asked, “Did you think of something?”

“I suspect that Wanda might have made the arrangements using my identity.”

Oliver shared his suspicions without hiding anything. His parents were taken aback and in disbelief. “Why would Wanda do that?”

Francis looked at Oliver with a puzzled frown.

Oliver told the truth. “Wanda never liked me. The one she likes has always been Nicholas Sawyer of the Sawyer Group. She’s the one who talked me into targeting Sawyer Group.”

“How could that be? I don’t think Wanda would do such a thing. Are you just trying to shift the blame on her instead?” Belinda eyed Oliver suspiciously.

Oliver knew that Wanda acted like an innocent, obedient girl in front of the elders so he didn’t bother explaining any further. He simply told them, “If you don’t think it’s possible, then you can get someone to look into it.”

Francis immediately instructed his assistant to do just that. The next day, Francis’ assistant brought the results of the investigation to Hadfield Residence.

“Chairman Hadfield, according to our investigations, it was indeed Wanda Muller who arranged for the media to defame the young Mrs. Sawyer under Mr. Oliver’s name.”

Francis’ assistant reported the findings. Francis and Belinda were furious to hear this. They never thought that Wanda would do such a thing. Belinda was so mad that she turned bright red.

“Here I was thinking that Wanda was a good girl. Who would’ve thought she would go behind our backs and do such a thing to our family?”

“I had no idea this girl would do such a thing. She seemed so well-mannered and mature.”
