Always Been Yours (Tessa and Nicholas) novel Chapter 624

Chapter 624
When Nicholas saw how terribly Kaiden was treating the hospital staff, he gave Edward a look.
Edward understood and stepped forward to rescue the nurse from Kaiden’s rough treatment upon receiving the silent order.
After the nurse thanked them, she immediately returned to the emergency room.
At this time, Kaiden also saw Nicholas and said in a low voice, “Mr. Sawyer.”
Nicholas nodded in greeting, then asked coldly, “What happened just now?”
“The doctor said that Jan may be in danger and asked me to prepare myself for the worst,” Kaiden answered truthfully. His eyes were bloodshot, his hands tightly clenched into fists, and his entire body trembled slightly.
When Nicholas heard the bad news, he knitted his brows in incomprehension.
Theoretically speaking, Janet can’t be injured so severely with her skill.
Out of his compassion for his former mission partner, Nicholas asked, “What exactly happened?”
When Kaiden heard his question, he gritted his teeth. Later, he thought of Nicholas’ identity and
decided not to hide the truth.
“Jan’s mission this time is to capture Blood Eagle. Initially, we thought we had corned Blood Eagle to a dead end and were anxious to catch him. But we didn’t expect him to be insidious and cunning. Instead, he set up an ambush in advance and lured Jan and the rest into his traps. Because of this, Jan fell into Blood Eagle’s scheme and wounded her heart. Although it was a few centimeters away, it still posed a fatal threat.” After saying this, he looked at Nicholas with obscuring gazes.
In reality, Kaiden was hiding something.

In theory, Jan won’t fall right into Blood Eagle’s trap with her ability. But she was too hasty last night. Plus, her mood was affected. That’s why Blood Eagle succeeded. The most hateful thing is that Jan still failed to catch Blood Eagle and let him escape even after paying such a huge price.
As for Nicholas, he did not know about these things.

Nicholas glanced at the emergency room with its door closed. He knew he coul status and influence to save Janet’s life first in the current situation.
At that moment, he immediately gave his order. “Edward, notify the hospital under Sawyer Group and ask them to fully assist the General Hospital in Janet’s treatment.”
“Understood!” Edward swiftly acquiesced and left.
During this period, the doctor reissued several critical condition notices.
Fortunately, Janet managed to survive all the critical moments safely.

After five or six hours of emergency rescue, she escaped the clutches of death.
In the evening the doctor looked tired when he came out. Even so, he braced himself to deal with Nicholas and others.
“The patient is temporarily out of critical condition, but she still needs to be observed in the intensive care unit. Outsiders are not allowed to visit her.”
“Thank you, doctor.” Kaiden was very grateful and finally felt as though a weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
Similarly, Nicholas nodded slightly and said solemnly, “Thank you for your hard work.”
After the doctor left, Nicholas took out his phone and called his former superior.
“Janet has been rescued but will be transferred to the ICU until further notice.”
“Sorry for troubling you.”
“It’s fine.” Nicholas didn’t care much about something as trivial as this.
However, the person on the phone entrusted him again. “Regarding Janet’s matter, I may have to trouble you to take care of her for a while. We can’t transfer her with her current situation.”
Nicholas frowned slightly, but he eventually agreed.
After that, he hung up the phone and made the necessary arrangements. Since no one was allowed to visit Janet, he asked Edward to deploy some staff to keep guard. When everything was settled, he prepared to leave as he felt that there was nothing else he could do for now.
When Kaiden saw this, a trace of dissatisfaction rose in his eyes.
In his opinion, Nicholas was possibly the main reason Janet made mistakes.
It was just that this was Janet’s private matter, so he had no right to say anything. So, the most he could do was to help Janet by asking Nicholas to stay behind.
In his mind, Kaiden thought Janet would feel happier when she saw Nicholas once she woke up.
“Mr. Sawyer, are you not planning to wait for Jan to wake up?”
“No. I still have some matters to attend to at the company.” Nicholas declined dispassionately, but he added, “If there’s anything wrong with her, you can notify me at any time.”
Thus, Kaiden had no other choice but to watch Nicholas leave.
On the other hand, Tessa resumed her busy practice schedule after Hathaway’s birthday party.
Occasionally, she would also perform at the restaurant when she was free. Sometimes, she would drop by the bar operated by Louis too.
Regardless, the place she visited the most was Louis’ manor. So, she became his assistant and learned more about music while helping out.
