Always Been Yours (Tessa and Nicholas) novel Chapter 628

Chapter 628
That’s correct. How could such a high and mighty person like Nicholas care for someone? On top of that, he’s also managing such a big corporation, so he should always be extremely busy.
Through this method, Janet found all sorts of excuses to comfort herself.
“Then, I’ll be imposing on you for now.”
She innocently stared at Nicholas with bright eyes unlike her usual self, but this all meant nothing to him.
This was because apart from Tessa, he felt nothing toward other women.
He nodded dispassionately, then sat for a while before leaving.
During this period, Janet kept bringing up all sorts of topics to try to converse with Nicholas. She even mentioned the past missions, as one could say that ever since he left the army, she had been recalling their days of risking their lives together to calm her lovesick heart down.
“I was young and rash back then, causing us to almost fail the missions multiple times. Yet, you would always help me out and make things work in the end. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even be alive now.”
She tried using their common past to bridge the gap between them.
Unfortunately, it did not seem to have much of an effect.
Throughout the process, Nicholas looked at her emotionlessly as if he was listening to another person’s story.
In the afternoon, a thirty-something-year-old woman came to Janet’s ward.
The woman introduced herself while standing beside the bed politely, “Hello, Miss Brenner. The Master has sent me to take care of you.”
As Janet regarded the honest servant, it gave her an idea. Then, she smiled gently. “How should I address you?”
“Miss Brennet, you can just call me Sally.”
“Sally. What a nice name. I’ll be in your care in the days to come.”
Sally, who looked at the humble Janet, had a favorable impression of her as her smile became much more sincere. “I’m just doing my job.”
Janet knew she had succeeded once she noticed the change in the servant’s attitude.
She was only acting genially in order to form a favorable relationship with this servant. This was merely a step to the right direction in her plan to pursue Nicholas.
Next up, she wanted to take the opportunity to obtain any information she could about Tessa
from Sally.
After all, Kaiden had only investigated who that woman was. As for her daily life, how she was getting along with Nicholas, and how she appeared in his life to be with him, nothing was known since Kaiden was unable to find out these details.
Yet, these were the things Janet was most concerned about.
In Vienna, Tessa had reduced the number of times she had communicated with Nicholas.
One was because of her refusal to allow him to sacrifice his rest for her and the other was because the amount of practice had increased to the point where she almost had no time to think about other things.
Even though they were communicating less now, she still knew that their hearts were linked with each other.
And just like that, time went by and the weather gradually turned chilly to signify the arrival of winter.
Tessa, who was experiencing her first winter abroad, was not accustomed to the current weather.
One day, she woke up only to find herself dizzy and in discomfort.
“Am I having a fever again?” she mumbled as she touched her forehead.
Even though she was in discomfort, she still forced herself to go down and planned to take some Tylenol.
In the living room, the butler immediately asked worryingly when he saw Tessa appearing with a pale face.”Miss Tessa, you don’t look too good. Are you sick?”
“I think I have a slight fever.”
Tessa did not hide this from Kylie. “Could you please get two antipyretics for me?”
Kylie nodded and immediately went ahead to grab the medication while calling Nicholas. “Master Nicholas, Miss Tessa has fallen sick.”
At this moment, Nicholas was in the hospital visiting Janet.
When he heard what Kylie said, his cold expression instantly turned into one of concern. “What happened?” he asked while walking to the balcony.
Janet only stared in a daze at the man’s back, as she had never seen him in a panic before.
Meanwhile, he had already anxiously made a video call to Tessa.
