In the end, there were a lot of things for Qian Zhuo to prepare. Although most of the things were trivial, it did take her a lot of time to organise and implement.
It was not until the forth of September that Yun Shang memorised all the documents brought to her by Qian Zhuo.
With a thoughtful grin on her beautiful face, Yun Shang handed the pamphlet to Qian Zhuo. In the past a few days, Qian Zhuo was really impressed by Yun Shang's speed of memorising things. Now she was very calm when she saw the pamphlet coming her way. She simply asked in a low voice, "As usual, I shall burn it, right?"
"Yes."
She fetched a fire pot, burned the pamphlet in front of Yun Shang. Then she quickly stirred the ashes with a stick, poured a cup of water into the pot, and then handed the whole thing to Pei Lan for disposal.
"I haven't heard anything about Xia Houjing recently," she said to Yun Shang, her voice was rather concerned. "His majesty and your majesty are leaving Jin City with many officials soon. Shouldn't Xia Houjing take this opportunity to walk around and warn his spies in the court?"
Yun Shang took another book in her hand. Hearing what Qian Zhuo said, she slightly smiled and replied, "Well, he might have done it already, we just don't know yet."
Seeing Qian Zhuo's confused look, she explained patiently, "Last time, because of the poison attack, his whereabouts were exposed in the brothel, along with the officials who went to see him that day. He definitely didn't dare to use them anymore. Now his power is getting weaker, so he has to be cautious.
His majesty is still in Jin city. Xia Houjing is afraid that he will expose himself and doesn't dare to go out easily. Even if he wants to meet someone, he will definitely choose a more suitable place. A place where accidents happen anyhow, he will be able to suppress them without any mistake."
Qian Zhuo thought what Yun Shang said was reasonable, she nodded, "You're right, your highness."
Yun Shang picked up a rasin from the table beside her and casually put it into her mouth. She then continued, "It doesn't matter. He is afraid of the emperor now, so it's normal for him to be cautious. As soon as his majesty and I leave the city, he will probably start to act boldly and presumptuously."
Qian Zhuo nodded, but there was a bit of worry in her eyes. She murmured, "I just don't know what will happen to Jin city if his majesty and your majesty are not here anymore."
Yun Shang replied with a smile, "Let him mess it up. I should be more worried that he doesn't take any action once we depart. I don't want him to think that we leave the city on purpose to deal with him.
It's a good thing for us if he actually tries his best to fight for his survival. It will be absolutely a good chance for us to kill him and his alliance in one go. However, if he doesn't take the bait, our efforts will be in vain."
Yun Shang lowered her head and thought for a while. She also felt that such a situation was unlikely to happen. She looked at Qian Zhuo, her voice was quite confirmative, "He has prepared for so long and failed so many times. It's not easy for him to get this rare opportunity. If he doesn't take any action this time, I'm afraid that he will never have such a good opportunity in the future. Therefore, he will seize this opportunity at any cost."
Qian Zhuo agreed with a determined nod, "I think so, too."
On the ninth of September, Luo Qingyan took Yun Shang with him and they paid a visit to His Former Majesty and Her Former Majesty. They had a pleasant small get-together. On the morning of the second day, they left Jin city with a lavish parade of servants.
"What are you looking at? Something nice? You've been looking out of the carriage since we departed."
As Yun Shang gently lifted the curtain of the carriage and looked out of the window, she heard Luo Qingyan's voice behind her. He sounded rather bitter.
