Chapter 100 One more chance 

Alice 

no, I wasn’t ready for this. I really wished I could just stay in bed, doing nothing. But then I thought When I opened my eyes for my alarm, I thought, no, I w about our conversation with Beth. Yesterday, I got to know she wasn’t so bad, so that made the trainings bearable a little more. And also she was right, when she said this was my only opportunity, and just because I was hetrayed by the only man who I ever loved, I couldn’t ruin my chances. 

I got up, then I went to the bathroom as usual. My new, highlighted hair was still weird for me, but I slowly got used to it. 

When I was ready, I grabbed my keys, then I went to my car. I wasn’t late at all, so I slowly drove to the sports centre. Just like usual, I sat in my car for a little while, but after telling myself to do it, I got out of it, and strolled inside the centre. 

The docemen greeted me with a smile as usual. 1 smiled back even if I wasn’t in the mood to smile at all, and greeted him too. 

I walked into the changing room, and I sat down just like always, thinking. And my mind always showed me the same picture. Gideon and that whore. 

I shook my head. 

“Stop it, Alice.” I scolded myself inside my head. I stood up, exhaled slowly, and I changed my clothes. After massaging my feet a little, I stood up to find my skates, and I felt like my heart stopped when muscular arms wrapped around me, keeping me firmly, and a face touched my shoulder. 

Even if the familiar scent made me feel the butterflies in my stomach, I screamed in fear, but when I heard the voice that I knew so well, my eyes widened, and I couldn’t say a word. 

“Allee, it’s only me.” 

I closed my eyes for a second, as the scent and his powerful arms around me were so pleasurable and so missed. But in a few seconds, all the memories came back into my mind. He left me, divorced me, never came after me, and finally, when I couldn’t stand his absence any longer, I found him with a whore

“Alice, what you saw in the club… I have nothing to do with her. My father wanted to put me in a trap. I swear I didn’t touch her. I have had no one since you disappeared. For fuck’s sake, I thought you might be dead.” 

His facial expression showed pain, not physical though. But that wasn’t all that I wanted to know. 

“And because you thought I was dead, you didn’t even try to find me. You never came after me, and you signed the divorce agreement without hesitation. Have you also organised a beautiful funeral for me?” 

He looked at me with a frown. That made me confused. 

“Alice, where did you get this bullshit from? I went after you as soon as I realised you disappeared. We even cooperated with the police. Police dogs found the place where you had been taken by Charles, and we paid enough to find out Riccardo was quicker than us.” 

He took a deep breath. 

“I went to the D’angeli house about a hundred times, but each time they pointed their guns at me and at my people. I couldn’t get in. And about the divorce agreement, when Riccardo’s lawyer appeared, I tore the sheet into pieces and told him to fuck off. I do not know who put my signature on it.” 

“Yeah, and I am a bewitched princess of the fairies. Learn to lie better, Gideon.”

My heart ached like I could scream. What I really wanted was to run into his arms and never let him go again, but knowing him and seeing what I saw just made me untrustful of him. I turned around, then I tried to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist..
