Chapter 111 The first date
She raised her gaze to look at me. It was seductive at first, but then it changed to a happy, then a playful. She kissed my lips lightly.
“I’m too young for marriage.”
I shook my head with a smile, then I held her hand to lead her to the hotel. When we entered, a hostess led us to our table. She looked around with amazement, which made me love her more. It might sound stupid, but I felt like she was the only one in this world who valuated my efforts.
After we sat down, our server poured champagne into our glasses while he told us briefly about the history of its making. After he left, we lifted our glasses.
“For our first date.” She said, I smiled.
“Yes. For
our first
t date.”
The dinner was delicious. She looked amazed at every minute.
The open balcony was windy and cooler as the sun went down, so I asked her to excuse me for a minute. I went to take the scarf. She looked at me curiously when she saw the box in my hand.
“Another present?” She asked with a smile. I smiled back, and I nodded.
“Gideon, you better not spend too much, a few dates more, and you’ll be broken.”
I rolled my eyes, then I bent down.
“Don’t worry about that, love, even if you’ll be like my mother in the future, I can afford you.”
She laughed out loud.
“Gideon, I don’t think I’ll be like her. Never.”
“I’d appreciate that.” I told her with a sigh, which made her laugh harder.
Instead of giving the box to her, I opened it. I pulled the light scarf out and I covered her back with it, putting her hair gently over it. It perfectly matched her dress. She looked down at the scarf and touched it to feel its soft material. She smiled at me with her eyes filled with love.
“Thank you, Gideon, it’s beautiful.”
1 kissed her lips gently, then I sat back in my place. We ate dessert, and we talked a lot. Alice told me about her life in the D’angeli house. She told me how much she loved her little brother already, and she told me Alexandra became her best friend. She also told me how much she supported our reunion. I still had a lot of questions, which I didn’t dare to ask. I told myself to be patient.
When we finished dinner completely, I noticed she didn’t really know what to do. I felt she wanted to stay, but maybe that didn’t fit her plans.
“Do you want to walk?”
1 asked her. She smiled and nodded. I stood up, then I went to her. Even if that was hard for me, I tried to act like a gentleman. I knew she wasn’t really like that either, but I wanted to show her. For her, I can be like that as well.
She walked next to me happily toward the door, when our server stepped next to us.
“I hope you and your guest enjoyed dinner, Mr. Sullivan.”
“Yes, we did, thank y
you.”
room is ready, sir, whenever you would like to use it” He nearly bowed, but his words hit me like a punch. Especially when Alice looked at me questioningly. I looked away. I knew what she wanted to play, and sleeping with me didn’t fit in her plans for sure. Avoiding looking at her, I just pulled her with me, hoping this scene wouldn’t ruin our evening.
She walked next to me, holding my hand quietly. It took a while for her to break the silence.
Chapter 111 The first date
“And what about your family now?”
I shrugged my shoulders.
“Nothing really. Since you left, it’s not a happy place anymore.”
“How come?”
I smiled.
“You got to know them. They tried to find you for a while, then they tried to make me understand I have to let you go. I couldn’t, so my mum stood next to me, which caused a conflict between my dad and her. Seth doesn’t talk to me because I’m the reason for the conflict in my family, and also of the sadness of his daughter. Sloane tries to be neutral, but she doesn’t talk to me like before. Dad brought Amber into the club, hoping that we can cooperate, but not just in business. This part, you know. The problem is probably she promised mum he would do everything to get us together, so mum forgave him, so they are continuing their happy life together.”
She looked at me sadly,
I could tell her much more, but I didn’t want her to think that I was weak as a man.
“Gideon, I’m really sorry.”
I shrugged my shoulders with a smile, which wasn’t really a smile.
“I’m not. I mean, if I would have given up just like they expected me to do so, I wouldn’t be here with you now.”
She stormed
stopped. She held my waist. I put my hand on hers. Our gazes met, and she tried to read me
“Am I really worth that much, Gideon?”
“You can’t imagine how much you are worth to me, Alice.”
She slipped her hands up on my chest, and she folded her arms around my neck to pull me into a kiss. That was our first actual kiss that evening. My hands slipped down on her waist, forgetting about manners, and stopped just before I would have reached her butt.
To kiss her like that turned me on, and what I really wanted was just to pull her into that hotel room, but I had to hold myself back. It took a while for her to move away, then she smiled at me, keeping me close.
“What about that hotel room, Gideon?”
I shrugged my shoulders again.
“I thought we could have a good chat with no one disturbing us.
“A good chat?” She asked me, moving one of her eyebrows up.
I chuckled.
