Chapter 142 Fun time with a good friend
“Oh, it’s really nice to see you, too.”
He put me down and turned me around..
“Not much has changed, but what the hell happened to your hair?” He frowned.
“Why?”
“You are blonde.” And he made a face,
I rolled my eyes.
“It’s still brown, but leave my hair alone.” And I slapped him lightly.
We both laughed, and he hugged me again. It felt so nice to have him near.
“We’ll leave you two some privacy. Take a little rest, Alice.” Gareth said with a smile, and he left with Beth.
“Do you want to drink something? Lucas asked. I nodded with a smile. I took my skates off, and I put my shoes on, then I followed him. We sat down after he ordered the drinks, and he just looked at me.
“What?” I asked after I lifted my gaze to look at him.
“Alice, I’m sorry for… You know, how I treated you at the funeral.” He looked away.
I smiled sadly.
“I’m sorry
Π
too. That was a horrible time and I shouldn’t treat you like that either.”
“Okay, so can we just forget that?” He asked me hopefully. I nodded with a smile.
“Please” I said, and we both laughed.
“So how come you are here?” I asked.
“The centre invited us, and we accepted the invitation.”
I looked at him, surprised.
“Are all the coaches here?“He nodded with a smile, like he knew what was on my mind.
“We should be on a city tour, but I heard you train here, and I wanted to see you instead.”
“Oh Lucas, you should be out then.” I felt a little guilt, but he just laughed.
“No, I feel better to see you. And I’ve been here twice already.” He made a face like Los Angeles would be the most boring city on Earth, but I only smiled at it. I remembered, of course. His family always supported him in everything he did, especially in skating, and they didn’t lack money either,
“And what about the program?” I asked.“My partner, Sue’s uncle, died suddenly, so she is attending the funeral. She’ll stay fit by going to the gym and hopefully we won’t fall” He sighed. “It is a gala only, not counting too much.”
“Isn’t it like you are cheating on your partner?” I asked with worry, but his face became serious,
“I feel sorry for Sur, of course, but that is about my futu
future, too.”
I nodded. I understood him, and if I wanted to be honest, I would have done the same.
I had a sip of my drink when it arrived. Then he looked at me weirdly.
“What?” I asked while I put the glass down on the table.
Chapter 142 Fun tune with a good friend
“How are you, Alice?” His expression was like he asked me with worry, obviously didn’t know if he asked the right question.
“What do you mean?”
“You have a different name.”
My lips curled up into a smile.
“Yeah. First, I divorced, but before that, an absolutely unbelievable thing happened.”
He looked at me, surprised, but he apparently wanted me to continue.
“My biological father appeared.”
He frowned, and he looked like he thought I was joking.
“What?”
“Yes. My father said he always tried to find me since I was born. His wife is a lovely woman, who became by bestie, and I also have a little brother.”
“Now you are joking.” He looked appalled.
I shook my head with a chuckle.
“No. So this is the reason my name is different. After I divorced, my father offered me to wear his name, and I accepted it happily.”
“D’angeli?”
“Yes. He is Italian and fucking rich.”
He shook his head, still smiling.
“But you don’t even know him.”
“Since he found me, he really tries to make it up. He already gave me more than I ever got before he appeared. He is nice, and I think I already like him as my father”
He remained quiet for a moment, then he looked into my eyes.
“Well, if so, I’m happy for you.”
“Thank you, Lucas.” I nodded.
“And what about your ex husband?”
I lowered my head, but I smiled wider. That made him frown. I looked back at him, and I only hoped what I got to tell him wouldn’t hurt him anymore.
“Well, he is my boyfriend now.”
