Chapter 148 Next to the enemy 

“Gideon, what is your problem?” Elaine looked at him, questioning his son. This time Gideon apparently felt embarrassed, as he probably remembered his mum had a few implants in her body. He just leaned back forward, then he continued eating. 

Amber looked better after she thanked Elaine with a smile, and she continued eating too. 

The time passed quickly. Ava started to be super excited. When finally we were at the cars, Seth scolded her gently, as she really couldn’t stay calm.. 

We went to the sports centre with three cars. There were many cars already, but what my eyes spotted were those cars that belonged to the D’angelis. There were three of them. I looked around, then I spotted a few weird cars. I tried to get the thoughts of this out of my mind. It would be a show only, so even if Riccardo’s people were there, they probably came to see it just like us. 

As soon as we were inside, Ava went to Gideon. 

“Gideon, can you come with me, please? I want to show you something” 

Gideon frowned, but he held her hand, and he pulled him with her. When she noticed Amber followed them too, she stopped. 

“I asked Gideon to come with me.” 

“Couldn’t I come?” Amber looked at her, trying to be cute. 

“No.”

like she meant it and started to pull Gideon with her. Amber stepped to me, and I knew what she wanted without her saying a word 

“You know, I thought your family would be nicer.” 

“With whom do they should be nicer?” 

“With me, and you know that well, you have to…” 

“You don’t need to continue, I know. But if you want my son so much, I can give you some advice. Let him breathe, and then he’ll be nicer to you.” 

She laughed. 

“You are telling me to let him fuck another? No. He can’t cheat on me.” 

I said nothing to that. It seemed like she acknowledged this time I wouldn’t help her, but soon she turned to me again. 

“If he’s not back in a half an hour, I’ll End him. And if I find him with a woman, I’ll talk to my father.” 

I felt like I could kill her. 

“Amber, he disappeared with his seven–year–old niece. Stop it.” 

She looked at me with a killer gaze, then she turned her head away as I moved closer to the others. Soon she followed.me. 

As I looked around, I saw even more people. It seemed like the centre was filled, and it seemed like they had many favourite figure skaters, ice dancers and pairs. I couldn’t see the flags clearly, though. 

I had to think of Alice. The remorse tortured me again. If I wouldn’t have encouraged my son to buy a fake wife, she could be here today. They could print her picture on flags and they could root for her. 

“Spencer, are you alright?” 

Elaine looked at me worriedly. 

“Yes darling. I’m fine.” I told her with a smile, but she still looked at me weirdly. 

Soon Gideon and Ava came back, and they probably had an enjoyable time as both of them smiled widely. They looked happy. 

A bit later, Ava came to us for a hug, and we wished her good luck. We took our seats, and the skaters went on the ice. Ava and the same aged skaters made small jumps and spins, but what the older ones did was really unbelievable. There were four older girls, and a few couples who got a tremendous

applause each time they practised a jump or a lifting element. I mostly watched my granddaughter, and I felt incredible pride. When I glanced at Elaine, I could see she had the same thoughts in her mind. 

It took a long time when they left the ice, only two pairs remained on it. Another short time passed, when they finally opened the event, and the show 

started. 

I had to admit that it was hard, but a really beautiful sport. All the skaters got a tremendous applause, even if some of them fell a few times. The crowd was really understanding and encouraging. 

When we got to where it was Ava’s turn, we held each other’s hands, and I hoped Ava would complete her performance without problems. And she did. She didn’t fall, and she’s done everything so beautifully. We had tears in our eyes when she finished. The whole family stood up and applauded for her. 

It took a long time, when she appeared, and we all congratulated her. But a bit later, she stepped to Gideon. 

“Gideon, it is time. Would you come down with me?” 

Gideon looked at her with a smile.. 

“Sure.” And he stood up. 

“Where are you going?” Amber looked at him. 

*We are going to root for our favourite at the wall.” 

“I want to go too.” 

Gideon laughed weirdly, 

“You better stay here, believe me.” 

“I won’t.” She retorted. And seeing her anger, I knew I had to do something. I stood up, 

can go together.” 

“Okay, we can go 

Gideon looked at me. Ava was confused too, but finally be looked into my eyes weirdly as well. 

“Come, then.” 

Then they turned around, then we walked down. He walked to the wall. There was something like a wooden box. He helped Ava to step on it in her skates. He held her waist to support her, and they both watched in a direction. 

Many people were there. They were around a blondish figure skater. I couldn’t see much of her, but I had a weird feeling. Especially when I spotted Alexandra D’angeli with her son in her arms. The figure skater kissed both of them, and just when she walked to the gate, I spotted someone else. Riccardo. 

He hugged the figure skater with a smile, and he caressed, then patted, her back like he wanted to encourage her. 

“Gideon, we should leave right now.” I said. Amber looked at me with a frown, but then she noticed them too, Doesn’t matter how powerful the Devilles were, the D’angelies still made her terrified. 

“Yes, Gideon, we must leave now.” Amber told him worriedly, but he only looked at us with a smile. 

“No, we have no reason to leave. Just enjoy the show, like we are going to do.” 

I tried to hold Ava’s waist to take her down, but Gideon’s gaze went darker while he looked at me.
