Chapter 150 Finally at ease
Sloane held my hand, but I looked at her and I caressed her face, then I freed myself, and I walked to the door. I had a grip on my gun. I really wanted to be the first to shoot, but the man stood there with his hand in his pocket.
When he looked at me, I recognised him.
“Carlo?”
“Mr. Sullivan. Signore D’angeli sent me here to let you know the mission of eliminating James, and Amber Adams is complete.”
He took his phone out of his pocket and he showed pictures. They were dead.
“Signore D’angeli is grateful for you helped the D’angelis in the past, therefore he gives you and your family full protection in this case.”
I just stood there, and I couldn’t believe what he just said.
*Good night Mr. Sullivan. Sleep in peace.”
He nodded, and he opened the door himself to leave. I couldn’t hold my emotions back anymore. I sat on the floor and I sobbed. It took a while when Elaine and Sloane ran to me, followed by Lilly. They shouted at me to ask me what happened. I only could tell them three words: we are saved.
When I calmed down a little, I asked Sloane to call his brother to come here. He was hesitating, but finally he came with his family. He couldn’t say word either, but he looked more calm too.
The whole family spent the night together.
Gideon
After the gala, we all were invited to the D’angeli house to celebrate Alice. I had mixed feelings. To see my dad’s face, to see he broke when he watched me leave them, hurt me so badly.
I missed my family already, and the only thing that I could think of I made them disappointed in me. But even if I felt like that, knowing I wouldn’t see Amber again in this lifetime, and knowing I would have Alice next to me with no obstruction, made me feel happiness like 1 haven’t felt for a long time,
“Gideon, are you alright?” Alice asked me while she held my hand in the car that took us back to the D’angeli house.
I looked at her with a smile.
She sighed.
“Just give him time, Gideon. He might not be angry with you. He might be just shocked because of the happenings, but it might change after he calmed down.”
I smiled at her still.
“Yeah, we’ll see
She looked out of the window while she
caressed my hand with her thumb. She looked happy, and for me that was the most important.
We arrived soon, and we started with a welcome drink. I still couldn’t be at ease. I knew Amber was out somewhere, and if she and her dad have let the Devilles know about my father, my family was in trouble. A life–threatening trouble. Alice asked me a few times if I was okay, but each time I tried to smile at her and deny the fact that I wasn’t.
“Gideon, would you come with me for a few seconds? I want to talk to you.”
I looked at Riccardo, then I looked at Alice.
“Alice, would you excuse us?”
“Of course” She said while she looked at her lather with a frown.

“Everything is okay darling, I just need to have a word with him. I’ll bring him back soon.”
Alice smiled at him and nodded. Apparently, she trusted in her father.
I followed Riccardo, who walked outside the house. We reached the vast tent, and he invited me to sit down.

“I can see you worry,” he said. I lowered my
“Yes, honestly I do.” I sighed. “I’m just worried about my family.”
“I know. If I was you, I would feel the same.”
He took his phone out of his pocket, then he searched for something. Finally, he gave it to me.
“Have a look.” He said.
I took it, and what 1 saw made me shiver. It’s not like I have seen nothing like this before, but to see two corps in blood delightful, even if that meant I didn’t need to worry anymore.
I wasn’t something that was s

“Adams
was killed before the gala finished, just in case Amber would want to call him, and Amber died straight after she stepped out of the sports centre. Adams had many dodgy businesses, so the Devilles wouldn’t want to find out who it was. I’m well informed, so I know the Devilles do not know about your father’s betrayal. Your family is safe. You don’t have to worry about this anymore.”
